Q:I’m not understanding how each light lights up. Im looking to get about 10-12 of these to put on fence and trying to understand how you hook all of them up to electricity.

A: These lightts have standard low voltage clip. There is a short piece of low voltage wire attached to the interior of the unit on one end. The other end extends out of the unit about 12 inches or so, and ends in a clip that gets attached to your low voltage wire that you run along your property. Once you clip it on your line it will receive power. If you are not familiar with low voltage wiring, you need an adaptor which plugs into any household outlet. You attach a length of low voltage wire to the adapter and run the wire wherever you want to attach lights, for the desired length you want. We used electric staples to run the wire along
our fence. We then screwed the lights to our fence, clipping each one to the wire.

A: Not a traditional outlet plug. Each light has two wires with a clip on the end. The clip is then connected (very simply with no tools) to the wire that leads to the “control box”. Setting up this system is very simple. They are designed so just about anyone can easily install them DIY. It can best be described as “stupid easy”.

A: You have to use low voltage wire and a transformer to connect lights
by|Nov 11, 2022
A: Each light has a connector which attaches to a trunk line running from the transformer.

A: They do not have a plug like a normal 120v light fixture. They are low voltage so you will need a transformer to power them and low voltage landscape wire to run to each light.

A: you can wired direct.

A: You need a central 12V transformer (12VAC) which is the standard garden lighting standard. otherwise 2 simple wire nuts to hook up in parallel with all the other lights.

A: This product is designed to operate on low voltage electricity. A transformer reduces the voltage of the household outlet it’s plugged into and provides the lowered voltage to the wires used for these lights. All the components are designed to operate on a much reduced voltage than your household supply. I would never hardwire a low voltage unit to the electrical output of a home as it would probably melt the wires and blow the bulbs and may cause a fire. I am not an electrician but that sounds quite dangerous to me.

A: The lightbulbs are integrated. You cannot change them. I have purchased over 25 of these fixtures because they give a generous amount of light, easy to install and they look great. The light is focused downward, not out, however the light does reach areas beyond just underneath the fixture. For instance, we installed these lights on the top of the OUtside of our gazebo and theOUTside of our deck and the light also illuminates the inside to a degree. We installed these lights on the top of our wood perimeter fence and it lights the ground beautifully, not out, but down.

A: No. It is an integrated unit with the bulb permanently in place. I have these on every third fence post and the 7-watt bulb casts just the right amount of light.
