We use these lights to mount on 4x4 posts for path lights. Just finished a 400 foot path! Since they are only 2 watts each they work fine on a long distance if you use bigger wire. 10 gauge and 12 gauge.

Very easy to install and they look great! I'm using them for the outside of our screened sunroom.

The product description says there are 4 fixtures per and lists the unit price as 1/4 of the total. Good deal! I ordered 3, expecting I'd get 12 fixtures, but I only received 3. Buyer beware!

These are great lights

I cannot speak to the installation process as an electrician did it, but they give off a nice low light, bright enough to light a walkway but no too bright that the whole yard is lit. Not sure about longevity as they have only been installed for about a month.

Wanted lights to accent my backyard but didnt want anything overpowering. The lights are solid construction and were easy to install.

If placed right these lights won’t blind or overpower the area and still supply useful light. They seem well made. Very impressed.

These are beautiful on our fence. No problems at all and easy to install.

The previous ones are better. Super disappointed that they don't light up like the other ones. Dim one is the new one..

theses lights are awesome, i put them all around my backyard to turn on at 8:00 pm and off at 11:00 pm and the lighting is perfect, not to dark or bright but you can see fine. the entire set up is easy for a DIY. I put one for every other post just to see how bright they are.

I ordered this light instead of a similar option on a major online store mainly because this light included the electrical connector which can be expensive to purchase separately. The light works as expected providing a very nice dispersive light which I mounted under our seats around the outside of our deck. I found the press on connector to work well with the 12 AWG outdoor wire I used. I used locking pliers to squeeze the two parts of the light's connector around the 12 AWG wire and the result was a reliable connection each time. Since these lights are only specified to draw 2 Watts each I knew that my 75 feet of 12 AWG wire would not cause a significant drop in Voltage. Plus I checked one light prior to installation and it provided a consistent light output over a fairly broad voltage range. I will note that my instruments indicated that one light was drawing close to 2.5W at 12 Volts. So be sure to use a transformer with sufficient Wattage. I connected 12 lights to a 120W Hampton Bay low Voltage transformer mounted outside. The 120W was much more than needed (12X2.5=30Watts) but the higher power rated transformer offered features I desired like simple programming for turning the lights on at dusk and off at a specified time. Looking at reviews it also looked like the 120W transformer was more reliable than lower wattage options. The combination has been working great and I would recommend the lights and transformer. The installation took some time but was not complicated.

I bought these lights to replace 7 watt wedge bulbs. What a difference. Though at first I thought the light was too bright, they really make whatever they are highlighting pop. I had to install these into stone/mortar which was a bit difficult but I got it to work. My only issue was that the lead wire is too short compared to other products. Even though i had to cut the wire to get them through the hole I made to pass through the wall, I had to add wire to make them long enough. The connectors are solidly built and easy to install. The shell is durable in solid. I have a total of 20 of them.

At first I wasn't sure how well they would light up my walkway from a 3 foot height and bought and installed 5 lights. They worked so well that I ended up taking down 2 lights and using them in other places! My walkway is about 43 feet long and 3 lights placed 3 feet high worked perfectly! The picture shows the walkway with 5 lights but I have since taken down the 2nd and 4th lights and still lit up the walkway.

Installed 9 of these 12V LED lights around the perimeter of a 19 by 8 foot raked sand Zen garden (external atrium). They have been functioning beautifully for over a month now and each was installed 18 inches above grade. The light intensity is uniform and the lights are spaced 4 feet apart. They are easy to install (although I removed the blade pinch clips and hard wired them to the feed line) and easy to mount, maintain and replace if/when necessary. The light is more than adequate and natural looking (not a cold fluorescent look).

This low voltage LED Surface mount light has a good warm color and as photos show it spreads approx. three to four foot light spread at a 18 inch high mount and at 2 foot high mount has a good five to six foot spread of light. Due to weather, home owner and permits the light is only temporarily mounted with alligator clips not included. Good secure and easy to use attachment point for the main low voltage line. Installs with one screw and nylon plug included for masonry applications. As with all led fixtures they greatly reduce the wattage used per lumens so more fixtures can easily be added to the smaller transformers.

Whoever designed this garbage should be fired immediately and forced to pay back their wages. I wanted to replaced my non-LED versions of these lights with the LED ones so I bought a few of them. This thing has so many design flaws it made an easy install into a very difficult one. Let's start with the wire, the non-LED versions had about 2-3 feet of wire, on these they cheaped out and give you less then a foot of wire, I had to splice in extra wire for them to reach the main line. I'd rather have too much wire than too little. Next the wire cutout, some genius decided to only put it on the bottom, so you have to run your wire down and then back up wasting even more of your preciously short wire. The non-LED versions of these had cutouts at the top and bottom so you could run it either way. I had to get out my Dremel and make cutouts in the top of these lights. Next the idiotic mounting system, the non-LED lights had screw hole right in the front face plate, these do not, all they have is a bracket on the back that you have to mount first then place the light over it and then tighten a set screw at the bottom to hold it in place. Well that doesn't work with a hoot, once you mount the bracket you have to angle the light over the top part of it first then lower the bottom part down. Problem is because you are angling the light you can't get the bottom part on to the bracket, I had to hammer the lip of the bottom part of the bracket up so the light could fit over it. Finally let's put 4 stickers on the cord that you have to remove not just one. While these lights might use less power and provide more light than the non-LED ones they are ruined by a idiotic design unless you want to do some DIY hacking to make them work.

Great lights, easy install, these lights give excellent coverage are well made with case body construction with a powder coated paint finish.

We have gotten everything we had hoped for with the lights we have purchased. It is nice sitting on our deck late at night with all of our house lights turned off; the glowing effect which these lights have from the deck are very subtle (which is what we were looking for) and from the back of our yard (see picture) the effects of the lights on the columns really define the space. I only wish I had taken this picture with all of our house lights turned off.

Let me say at the outset that this light is probably perfectly ok, for what it’s meant to do. Which, unfortunately, is not the same thing as what I *thought* it was meant to do. However, now that I go back and reread the Home Depot product listing, *in its entirety* (and look at more than the default product picture), I see what I missed the first time. I am, however, writing the review as an extra caveat for anyone else who might skim the description too quickly, but read the reviews more carefully… So, point #1 - it’s pretty small (see pics). The main picture shows it against an artificial white background (so no sense of scale), and I obviously didn’t look at picture #2 (of the box). Incidentally, the box actually says “Deck Light”, (as opposed to “Low-Voltage LED Black Outdoor Surface Mount Light”, as the listing does) which probably would have clued me in a bit more as to size/purpose. Point #2 - it requires a transformer. Again, probably obvious to a bunch of you who realize that it’s a tiny light meant to mount on a stair riser (or read “low-voltage”). However, I thought this was a larger, wall-mount light, so I only bought one (only needed one, to replace an exterior wall light at head height near my back door), and since I don’t already have a stepped-down line in the house or outside, it will not end up getting used (not that it would have worked for the original use, even if I did). HOWEVER, as I said at the top, it’s probably a perfectly ok light (the other 3 people who’ve reviewed it at the time I write this seem to think so) - I just can’t tell you from my own experience so the best I can do is recount my own stupid mistake so hopefully someone else doesn’t pull the same oops that I did :-)

This small low-voltage light fits nicely on most any surface; brick wall, 4x4 post, or any vertical surface that oversees a walkway or step. Hiding the wiring is the only real challenge, but that has nothing to do with the quality or function of this light fixture. It provides a 10-watt equivalent, 3000k light. Hook it up to an existing low-voltage landscape-type transformer/timer.

Light is exactly what I wanted. Directs light downwards. Easy to install and with good brightness. Delivery was messed up. Not due to HD. Was listed as on truck for delivery for about four days before it arrived.

These lights exceeded my expectations. They are bright enough to light the way but not overpowering. Good pricing and easy to install.

These are a great light, reliable and give off a nice soft night light yet bright enough to light up stairs etc, nicely. I fitted them around our new decking and the effect at night is great. The attachment screws arent much to speak of so I use different screws and the light is kind of expensive for a step light but I would buy them over without a question.

I like the fixture but the light is too bright for where I want to put it so it was returned.
