A:  Strongsmell, the smell of this wood is not harmful. Please leave the wood in a well-ventilated space to allow the smell to dissipate. It is recommended to avoid using the wood in areas where household pets may chew or ingest it.

A:  Maryjo, please be advised that this plywood is not chemically treated. Additionally, there is no testing to support the recommendation of using this plywood for preparing food.

However, we suggest that you obtain the precise measurements required for your project and compare them to the measurements of this plywood, which are 47.75" in length, 23.75" in width, and 0.47" in thickness. A:  A tropical country of origin doesn't mean the trees weren't grown and harvested intentionally and responsibly, specifically for lumber as Handprint is dedicated to sustainable practice that empower makers to feel good about their creativity and purchasing choices. They're also recyclable and biodegradable. In fact, they typically require less energy and natural resources to manufacture than other raw materials.

A:  Hello Karen, It seems that there is variation from store-to-store, so what we suggest is that you call the store directly for those details. What you might hear is that the first few cuts are free but beyond that, there is a minor charge, or that there is no cutting done when the dimensions are smaller than x inches, or that you have to schedule a few days in advance. And then again, your location might have none of these rules in place.

A:  Yes, but there are alternatives available which are considerably less expensive - and you don't need something this thick. Fiberboard, 1/8" thick, should work fine.

A:  Not necessary. Buy underlayment which is thicker and less expensive.

A:  Hi DY, According to the product page for the Sande Plywood, that product is not recommended for use as underlayment. You certainly have the right to use it, but there are other products that are considered better-suited for your purposes: OSB (oriented strand board), BCX Ply, PT plywood, attic decking, and just underlayment (rolls that are especially good under vinyl planking).
