    Q:is it waterproof

    Answer This Question

A:  This product is not waterproof. It is only intended for interior use, and should not be used in areas with water exposure.

    by|Feb 3, 2022

A:  Drywall texture is not waterproof. In fact, water makes for an easy clean up and removal from tools, be it wet or dry. Pending on the job and materials used (paint). Only then, after primer and paint applied, your texture is protected against water.

      by|Oct 6, 2020

A:  Use the oil based product only for this purpose and make sure you use an oil based primer.

        by|Apr 19, 2023

A:  I would not use it on cinder. But I’m sure it might work. You would have to read the applications that it can used for on the can. On Drywall it works great

        by|Nov 9, 2022

A:  To answer the question yes it can be used on both if the can works properly.

A:  You can try to warm the can up a bit, or, you can just return them and write to Homax to inform them that their product is greatly defective. this is very common and inexcusable. There is generally nothing you can do.

A:  If you pull the trigger out, there is an adjustment that can be made to increase/decrease the amount of pressure. Its is connected to the lever which controls heavy to fine spray pattern, but can be adjusted much more widely from behind the trigger.

A:  I bought a house with borders painted -- they had smoothed the border edge into the painted wall with joint compound. Not a great idea, but it worked. OTOH, I would recommend removing the border; it's not hard. So if painting a border would be successful, I figure that texturing a wall topped by a border could be done, too. You might still end up after texturing and painting with a noticeable line at the bottom of the border.

A:  I recommend taking the wallpaper off. Overtime the adhesive of the wallpaper will come off. It will start to crack your texture and you will have a much larger and expensive issues than you cut have.

A:  For best results, remove the wallpaper before texturing because the wallpaper glue will fail over time taking the texture with it.

A:  Allow 30 minutes to dry before paining. Thick texture or high humidity and low temperature will lengthen the dry time.

A:  Usually an hour or two to dry fully enough for paint. However, you can speed up the drying process by using a blowing unit directed on the applied area. A heated blower is even better. if the area is larger and has more moisture, it can take longer.

A:  The can said about an hour, but I still had wet spots 12 hours later. There's 70% humidity right now.

A:  Eddy, The product dries pretty fast. You can tell because of the color of the textured area will go from a dark pinkish white when wet, to all white when dry. I must warn you though, that the dry time will be dependent on the humidity level inside the building and in the area that you are trying to repair. The more humid it is, the faster it will take to dry. I would not recommend trying to force dry it with any type of heating gun, or blow dryer as it make cause the texture to crack. When I applied it, mine was dry within 8 hours, but I let it set overnight just to be sure. What I would suggest is that you apply it at night, right before you settle down for the night, and then let it dry while you sleep, and then paint in the AM if it is dry. You also didn't say how much of an area you had to do. DO NOT use a heavy hand with the trowel when knocking this down. Get the trowel as close to parallel with the wall as you can and let it just skim over the texture without putting pressure. Make sure you wait before knocking down. Do not spray and immediately knock down or all you will do is make flat mud, and you don't want that.
