A:  Slats are 1" wide by about 15-1/2" long. HOWEVER, Home Depot, this is not a question that another customer should be asked to answer, but one that the manufacture should provide.

A:  I purchased 2 of these louver doors they are really nice and yes the slats are open only to allow air flow.

A:  There is space between the slats but they are solid and do not pivot.

A:  Yes--they will mount up but you will have a larger gap on the door frame than usual. They should look alright if you are not a total perfectionist !

A:  I had the same problem so I used a 28x80 and a 30x80 and it looks great.

A:  Yes, two sets will fit in the 58" opening.

A:  sorry, that is really out of my expertise, but I would imagine if you framed out the sides you could make up for the 2" gap.
