                Answer This Question

A:  Hi Microman, thanks for the question. The InSinkErator Dual Outlet Sink-Top Air Switch is for use with all disposers. It has a remote push button that uses air pressure to activate the power module, located under the sink. When pressed, the Sink Top Switch sends a pulse of air down the air tube, triggers the remote switch, and activates the disposer. The power module's outlets are controlled by an internal alternate-action switch. This means either one or the other outlet will be energized at all times. When you push the Sink Top Switch button, you switch electrical power between the two outlets on the power module. This feature allows a second appliance to be plugged in and momentarily interrupts its power to run the disposer. The power module automatically turns the second appliance back on when the disposer is switched off. We recommend reaching out to a professional electrician or the manufacturer of the motor for specific recommendations.
