Worked great until it caught fire
Contractor installed this with our kitchen remodel. Wife called yesterday yelling that she couldn’t turn off the disposal and smoke was coming from under the sink. Power module caught fire and scorched outlet. Worked great until then

Did not have to add wall switch
Saved my bacon. Was able to add disposal without adding wall switch. EZ to install. Available in other finishes.

Works perfectly on cabinet face below the sink
Kandace from Conroe, TX is a genius. Her review suggested installing the switch on the cabinet facing just below the sink instead of finding a contractor to drill through a granite countertop. We had the same issue. I used a 1 1/4” Forstner bit to drill the hole in the cabinet face and installed the switch without the washer or rubber gasket. Everything else was per the instructions. Works perfectly and keeps the counter nice and tidy. Thank you, Candace for the idea (5 years later)!

I had to replace a failed garbage disposal and noticed this on the display with the garbage disposals. The wall switch that controls the disposal is tucked in a corner, so I bought this hoping it would make the disposal control more accessible. Installation was fairly straightforward. The most difficult part of the installation was finding a good spot to mount the kit under the sink. It matches the brushed nickel faucet and soap dispenser we have in our sink. I plugged it into the outlet that is controlled by the wall switch, so I can still use the switch to ensure the disposal is off should I need to. The second outlet on the control box is intended for a hot water dispenser. We don't use that. The switch is an on/off switch -- push once to turn on the disposal and push again to turn off the disposal.

Works great right out of the box. Had installed by an electrician. He had to drill one hole but took little time installing and the switch blends in very nice. Easier than removing the dishwasher. Also, had a tough time finding this in the store but they do carry them and to save you some time searching, go to the plumbing area where the disposals are - they are right next to them.

Product worked great for about 10 months. Cheap plastic threads on in counter button fell apart at that point. Product is designed so that you can not replace a single bad component and you have to buy a completely new unit. So I've got a .20c piece that is broken and get to buy a $75+ part to fix it.

This is our second Insinkerator sink-top switch. Our first has been working flawlessly for over four years and is used daily. The installation was straight forward and completed with novice skills and simple hand tools. The result is clean, elegant and functional. I feel this upgrade ads value and safety.

A press of the button and the disposal is on, press again and it is off, very convenient to have switch on sink versus opening a cabinet door, plus you get an extra outlet to boot.

I purchased this unit at The Home Depot in 2011 and it still works beautifully. My contractor said the buttons break (never heard that before) but mine hasn't broken. Perhaps he has come in contact with less quality models. The $60 price was OK by me and since it came with several button finishes--I chose chrome--I thought it to be a great value. It is safer to use than a toggle switch controls my Waste King Legend (1 Hp) garbage disposal and the button just requires a gentle quick touch. No hot water dispenser is attached. The correct size hole was drilled by the countertop pros and my contractor installed it--no problem.

Works great!! Easy to install after the hole is there --- looked at mounting switch in cabinet but opted to have hole drilled in granite top instead. Purchased a different finish for the air switch ( brushed nickel ) almost 50% of the price of whole switch itself. HD sells another single switch model for almost the same price as the dual switch but still opted for the double switch.

Easy solution to an inconvient problem
When we moved into our new home, the switch for the disposer was under the sink inside of a cabinet. To run the disposal, you had to open the cabinet door, each under the sink, find the switch, and turn it on, then repeat the process to turn it off. The Insinkerator "sinktop" switch dual outlet is an easy solution to this inconvenience, but Insinkerator is missing a bet, because this can be a cabinet switch as well as a sink top switch. Since we had granite countertops, drilling a hole to accommodate the sink top switch would be an expensive proposition. Instead, I installed the switch on the facing of the cabinet below the sink so that it is accessible while standing in front of the sink. All this required was that I drill a 1-1/4" hole in the wood cabinet, so that I could install the switch horizontally, instead of vertically. The rest of the installation was pretty much as described in the instructions. I did leave out the o-ring and metal washer, so that the switch fits flush against the cabinet facing. I also ordered the optional oil-rubbed bronze switch to match the rest of the kitchen décor. The remainder of the installation is as simple as mounting the power unit with two screws under the sink, switching the disposer plug from the outlet to the power unit, connecting the tubing between the switch and the power unit (tube plugs in, no fittings required), and plugging in the power unit. Worked like a charm the first time. I highly recommend this switch to anyone who has a wall or undercounter switch and wants the convenience of a switch that is readily accessible without opening cabinets and / or reaching for an inconveniently located switch.

This product is a wonderful solution for non-hard wired switched plugs!
This unit operates with an air switch to operate its outlets - It comes with enough tubing to install the switch button in any convenient place close to the sink and disposer! It comes with two button styles with other options for purchase online! I'm so glad I made this purchase!

Threaded cylinder that installs through counter top broke after 2 weeks of install.

Super easy install, and it works flawlessly. I’ve had a switch for years on the wall. This is much more convenient.

Easy install, nice options on button color and it works just like it should. Having a 2nd outlet is nice too, although we are not using it yet.

The problem is your store clerk gave me the wrong information. I could have only purchase the top piece for $14. He said HD only sold the entire unit for $105 dollars
