A: This is the thinner walled pvc, I would use the schedule 40 instead for strength, OR fill this will closed cell foam, but the thicker walled is not much more in weight or cost.

A: Yes, but this thickness would require a lot of heat, also filling it with sand to stop it from buckling when bent would make handling it a but cumbersome.
