    A:  I would purchase at least 45 tiles. Buy extra, you can always return any left overs. You will make a mistake cutting and having too many tiles is never a problem.

    A:  I would recommend buying 50. If everything went perfectly 42 pc would cover the 39.5 s/f. No tile installation ever goes perfectly.

      A:  use a tile saw that sprays water over the mosaic. If you do not use water tile saw the friction and heat generated will break the glass tiles.

        A:  I used a new 7" diamond blade on an electric tile saw, and proceeded VERY slowly on the cuts.

        A:  The smallest size you can find or you will have a mess with grout coming through the spaces. I used a V notch trowel, usually used for adhesives.

          Q:What is the type of metal? What type of drill bit is needed to drill through both the metal and glass tile at the same time?

          A:  The metal is aluminum. To dreill through the metal make a small dent with a nail set and use a high quality, sharp metal drill bit. For the glass use a special tile bit available in the tile dept.

          A:  you also need to put water on the area when drilling the glass. If not, heat will build up and crack the glass.
