        Answer This Question

A:  Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, We have reached out to the manufacturer and their answer is,Kilz Klear Primer can be used over dry wallpaper adhesive when the wallpaper is removed. Typically, you will prime and topcoat with the paint of your choice. However, if you’re applying a skim coat first, then you want to prime after the skim coat has cured.

Q:Is this clear primer the right choice for whitewashing projects to prevent pine knots leaching through the translucent white surface over time?

            Answer This Question

A:  Hi Clarina, thank you for your question. As it turns out, the Kilz Klear Primer does not provide the benefit of stain-blocking, and any wood knots may bleed through. To prevent this, it's best to use a stain-blocking primer such as the Kilz 3 Premium Primer. Have a great day! - Randy

                Answer This Question

A:  Hi J3joe, thank you for your question. As it turns out, our Kilz Klear Primer is not recommended for steel surfaces. However, our Kilz Adhesion Primer is, and can be used to prime tough-to-coat surfaces. However, it has not been used underneath a dry erase sketchpad, so that would be experimental. Have a great day! -Lina
