      Answer This Question

A:  yes if they have a thermostat now. however you may need a 24v transformer if the existing thermostat does not have a functioning 24v wire.

      by|Jan 30, 2019

      A:  No.

      by|May 4, 2023

A:  The Lux Geo will not work with electric baseboard heating because most of those systems are Line voltage. (240/120 volts) The Lux Geo is a low voltage (24v) thermostat.

          by|Jan 30, 2019

A:  You will require a thermostat for each zone. In this case, a Geo for each.

            Answer This Question

A:  Yes, our propane heating furnace has only 2 wire and works perfectly with the GEO. You must use the batteries to control the console. No Alexa compatibility.

            by|May 4, 2023

A:  This thermostat is compatible with a two wire heat only system and will require you to use batteries as the power source.

                    Answer This Question

A:  The Cadet Soft Heat Hydronic baseboard heater requires a line voltage thermostat (120 volt a.c. - 240 volts a.c.). The Lux Geo is a low voltage thermostat 24 to 30 volts maximum and is therefore incompatible. LUX Technical Support

A:  The backlight goes on when you touch the disc, for about 3 seconds. The display goes off at night entirely. Also, there are 3 settings for the display behavior to optimize battery life.

A:  Your LUX Geo display temperature will be shown continuously if you have a 24 volt "C" common wire attached to the C terminal. If powered by batteries alone the display will go to sleep during your temperature setback periods to conserve battery power. To see the room temperature press the blue triangle symbol to illuminate the display. LUX Technical Support

A:  My unit is battery operated (no c wire) and only the room temperature is shown. It is shown in very large and easy-to-see numbers. When I touch the dial, the remaining information appears on the screen. This additional information is what you see on the picture of the thermostat. The back light that comes on makes this additional information easily readible.

Q:I currently have a smart home hub and already have two smart thermostats on a three zone system. Can this thermostat be recognized by a smart home hub? Or, alternatively, does it work with the Amazon Echo? I would like to utilize this thermostat's geo fencing abilities to trigger an IFTT (If This Then That) recipe on my hub that causes all of my thermostats to react when I leave or come home. Thx.

A:  This thermostat works purely through the LUX server so that it will not communicate with your smart home hub but only through the LUX app and even then it is an appliance to server communication. Also, ECHO compatability is not available at this writing.
