Q:I tried plugging a standard size plug in it and it doesn’t go all the way in. Is mine defective or does it only accommodate very small plugs? I tried pushing it hard and it still doesn’t go all the way in.

A:  Most likely defective. Everything made in C. or other overseas so from one to the other specs off or clearly defective. Just return it. If I shop in store I always try male to female connections if if order online you'll never know.

A:  it can. You may have to use an adapter to add a ground, depending what you are plugging into it, as it has no ground.

Q:I have a light fixture in my storage unit where the fixture and conduit leading to it is metal. I'm assuming that the fixture is grounded to the conduit. I need to plug in a 3 prong power strip. The devices being plugged into the power strip are all 2 prongs. Would it be safe to use one of those 3 prong to 2 prong "cheater plugs" (see image) and then use heavy gauge wire to connect the Ground tab to the metal conduit? Thanks.

              A:  No

              by|Dec 3, 2023

A:  Since a light socket only has hot and neutral it has no ground. A 3-hole adapter couldn't function as a true grounded device. You could buy a 3-prong adapter such as this: http://www.homedepot.com/b/Electrical-Dimmers-Switches-Outlets-Plugs-Connectors/N-5yc1vZc336/Ntk-Extended/Ntt-3-prong+adapter?Ntx=mode+matchpartialmax&NCNI-5 and plug it into this outlet adapter, but any 3-prong device plugged in would NOT be grounded.

A:  Each outlet is rated at 15 amps or about 1800 watts or so. So, it depends on what the plate on your freezer says.
