I tried inserting the plug into the slots. Won’t go all the way in. Too shallow. In another review, Levithon wants the purchaser to consult the “the user’s manual” to see about a return! What user’s manual? It was in a small plastic bag, no literature with it.

I bought one of these to run an 80W LED light strip in my garage from the porcelain lamp socket in the ceiling. It was fine for about 2 years and then one day I noticed the light was flickering and a distinct "zzzZZzz" sizzle noise could be heard from the socket. Long story short, it was arcing internally under less than 15% of its claimed rating. I believe it's a design flaw in that the aluminum screw portion of the socket is just pressed against a brass tab internally and only a small portion of that brass -- the friction/area is clearly not enough. It's pretty clear that these are anachronistic and so the only option to buy new are extremely low quality versions like this. I think it should be relegated to grandad's junk drawer -- the sort of thing you used to be able to buy, but they don't make any more because of how dangerous they are. I have no idea how this earned a UL rating. I replaced the lamp holder w/ one that had an integrated plug.

I tried this adapter in both a porch light fixture in a covered patio and in a work light fixture. Comparing it to a light bulb which DOES work it is immediately obvious why it does not work - it is at least 1/2" to shallow. The center electrode never makes contact.

A simple solution to a common problem. When you have an old school outdoor socket and newer LED light strings bringing them together gets solved quickly with the lamp holder to outlet adapter. So good in fact that I purchased a second one as well.

I made the mistake again of thinking the online ordering was working. I was wrong. I ordered wait overnight, drove to the store and when I checked my text messages I found HD sent me a message stating there was limited inventory and my order was sent to a store twenty miles away. I canceled the order went into the store and fold 12 on the self. No one checked the self and the inventory count was off on another product. Color me shocked. I guess the powers that be did not think a purchase of less then 5 $ warranted any one checking the self. Well I guess bad customer service warrants me buying my products from a place where they want my business. Not the first time I have wasted my time at HD running form store to store but this is my last.

The product was good but store employees are terrible, HD employees ignore customers needing assistance and will walk away from shoppers so as to avoid contact. Sure do miss the old local hardware store HD put out of business.

This is perfect for plugging in a string of Christmas lights... or with today's low watt lights, several strings. Each night I switch off the lights from the switch inside the house before bedtime. Easy and economical.

It got the job done. I wanted to hang two LED shop lights in my basement storage room to replace the two single incandescent light bulbs that didn't provide hardly any light. Now it looks like the middle of the day in there thanks to these screw in outlets.

For my project, this adapter worked beautifully as a temporary power outIet for Christmas lights.
