Using this adhesive will likely not meet you expectations and because there are many types of glass block assemblies available in the market today it is highly recommended that you consult the glass block manufacturer for proper installation instructions of their product in a shower environment.

Both substrates are non-porous in this situation and the adhesive will not cure properly. We recommend you consult the shelving manufacturer for proper installation of their product, in a bathroom setting.

Additionally, the adhesive is not designed to support a vertical or free-hanging load without adequate mechanical support, should this situation apply to you.

Construction Adhesives or sealant/adhesive products should never be the sole means of support with an undermount sink application. Undermount sinks clips or a mechanical support system is a requirement, for safety reasons.

Loctite PL 530 Mirror, Marble and Granite Construction Adhesive may bond PVC trim to marble however, testing for adhesion and suitable results prior to beginning your project is recommended. Keep in mind, bracing the trim in place will be required until the adhesive is fully cured. Also expect cure times to be increased in this application. You might consider using Loctite PL Premium MAX for faster cure and less odor.

Loctite PL 530 Mirror, Marble and Granite Adhesive can be used but only if the mirror is an “electro-copper plated glass mirror.” If you are not sure what type of mirror you have then do not use this product on your mirror because damage can occur to non electro-copper plated glass mirrors. You should check with the mirror manufacturer first, before using, because this adhesive is a solvent-based product. Also, drywall should not be painted and keep in mind that a permanent support system, such as plastic mirror holders or clips, or mirror channels must be used to hold mirrors in place, both at the top and bottom of the mirror. The adhesive should not be used as the sole means of supporting a mirror on a wall.

This adhesive should not be used on mirrors that are not electro-copper plated glass mirror types or acrylic mirrors, as damage may occur. Keep in mind, mirror clips and/or mirror channels are required when using this product.

A:  Thank you for the question. If you are not sure the mirror is an electro-copper plated glass mirror, then do not use Loctite PL 530 as damage to the mirror may occur. Instead, you mighht consider Loctite PL Premium MAX. Adhesive should be applied as spots or dollops to the back of the mirror in 2 to 3-inch diameter spots approximately 1/2” thick for every square foot of mirror.
