Answer This Question
A: I don’t know. It should say in the instruction manual, but I’m always checking mine to make sure the water level is okay.

A: Actually mine died after the first season. Pump wouldn't pump water. But we have very hard water in the high desert, lots of white crud settled out and coats everything.

A: Yes, I bought mine last summer and I have used it several times in the guest room. It is very quiet with a soft humming sound that actually puts you to sleep.

Q:Where do the ice packs go...there are no compartments to hold them.
Does anyone else notice smell of mildew or something?

A: In the water bin at bottom. I found no way to make them stay there. Even leaving them in (floating) was not enough cooling for hot temps. I kept machine to use as humidifier in my very dry climate. The fan is nice. I haven't noticed a smell.

A: Ice packs go in with the water. No smell here!
by|May 5, 2023
A: There is a compartment in the back/bottom you have to unlock. You can put water or ice. The water left from last summer was never tossed out and re-use this summer and no smell. We love ours except it is a lttle loud.

A: The ice packs go into the water compartment directly so the air is moving over cold water. I haven't noticed a smell, but mine also don't sit holding water. I use them sporadically so they just don't have time to get smelly.

A: THE ICE GO'S IN THE SAME COMPARTMENT AS THE WATER. I DID NOT NOTICE ANY SMELL BUT THE INSTRUCTION STATE YOU SHOULD CLEAN THE WATER COMPARTMENT AFTER USE
by|Aug 8, 2019
A: There’s a clear plastic door in the back on the bottom. That’s where the water goes. The ice packs go in the same place. It makes the water cold.
I personally wish the water reservoir could be removed. Just so I could empty any remaining water out of there and clean it.

Q:Is there an ambient humidity percentage above which the Cooler will not cool?

A: Hello MommaBear,
I bought mine last year during the summer and while it cooled the room, I would agree that there is a threshold for coolness capability. I frequently put in ice water, ice cube in addition to the ice container the manufacture supplies. It put out cooler air immediately but as the water warmed then it went back to prior factory coolness. I still think this is a great EVAP however, you must adjust your expectations as it is not an air conditioner!

A: When it's warm or hot the cooler really doesn't work that well. It has to be really close in order to feel any coolness from it. A very small room is needed.

A: i live in Denver, very dry climate. Used last summer, in small bedroom, for a time. It is a great fan for light breeze - but does not really cool (so put back old window AC instead). However, keeping for light breeze and as quiet humidifier, in another room (not for hot nights or hot weather).
