Q:What temperatures is this material capable of withstanding? I'm looking to insulate the outward-facing side of a nichrome-based electric heating strip, which would get up to around 130F/54C, and the dimensions of this product are perfect.

A: The tape is only that wide if you use it sideways. For most applications it is used endwise, at which point it is ten feet long but only 3/4 inch wide. Upon occasions there are . slight errors as data gets entered onto the specification listings for the website.
But really, this is very good tape. I used it for replacement of the door seals on a freezer door at a restaurant kitchen, which is a rather severe service. The secret to having this tape stay attached is to follow the directions and have the surface very clean and totally dry before putting it in place. It does not adhere well to either wet metal. So follow the instructions and the foam insulating tape will adhere very well. We are very pleased with this tape, it is a good value

A: This tape is about 1/2 inch thick, but as it is rolled it mashes down to a bit thinner. It is the thickest foam tape in the foam-tape section at the HD store that I always shop at.
Foam tape thickness is a tricky specification and that is why it is not mentioned.

A: The Home Depot product specification shows a thickness is 1/2". This is a typical thickness for such a product.
