Q:Can someone please tell me exactly which vent kit i need to exhaust this water heater through the wall? The manual says i need a 4 in pipe kit, but all i see on here are 3x5 in kits. The one that Home Depot shows in accessories shows the Rheem 3x5 in horizontal kit, but the manual says requires a 4 in pipe kit. I need the actual kit number that goes with Marey GA10LPDP model.

A: Our's used a 4" pipe from the existing water heater that vents into the chimney, or roof vented. We had absolutely no luck getting through to customer service by phone of email. See diagram 5 here for the venting. https://images.homedepot-static.com/catalog/pdfImages/4c/4c8fd473-ed27-4b16-ae2f-46dafd969b0b.pdf

A: I bought the 4 inch gas pipes at home depot and put them together I don't think there's a kit but you have to use the double wall 4 inch pipes that say for gas exhausting, the water heater comes with the adapter kit. If your worried about it I would have home depot install it.

A: They won't sell in CA anymore. They sold me one and it broke and now I can't replace it and they have been no help. Marey customer service is almost as bad as Home Depot. Good luck, I wouldn't buy it again after my experience. Again, they no longer offer it in CA.

A: Yes some state it’s approved aren’t you state
But some contracts use?
by|May 1, 2020
A: You can use a short flex line rated for Natural gas connecting it from a Black Pipe to the water heater , the Black Pipe should be within a couple feet of the water heater to finish the connection with a flex line
Note : I am not a Licensed Plumber , they may be required to move the Black pipe line, all connections will need to be pressure tested for leaks

A: Hello! They can, but needs to have the flame in the moment they turn the hot water on, otherwise the sensor does not read the flames buring and turns off. A: I would say no. The ignition is inside and the heater should be wall mounted which would also make it difficult

A: I have an Eccotemp, not a Marey, so let me attempt a "generic" answer. Tankless propane water heaters are not like regular (tank) propane water heaters. There is no pilot light on a tankless as there is on one with a tank. A tank heater goes from "pilot" to "full flame" when the temperature of the water in the tank drops. A tankless goes from "no flame" to "full flame" when water moves through the heater. This means that whenever a hot water tap is opened, the flow detector triggers the electric ignitor to light the gas to heat the water moving through it. When the water demand stops, the gas flow stops.
I doubt that the Marey has a way to light the burner by hand. If it does, you would have to turn on a hot water tap then immediately light the propane. If the gas is not lit within a few seconds after the flow starts, a safety device stops the gas flow to prevent a buildup of unburned propane due to ignitor failure.

A: Ithe product documentation does not provide instructions to light w/o a battery - I haven’t attempted to light the heater manually
