A: Having always used a worm drive saw I believe this saw is lighter than them. The performance of this saw is great and I have had no problems whatsoever. You can’t tell the difference in a corded version to me except for this being lighter and no cord.

You can use 2 batteries of varying sizes. The saw will run until the smaller battery needs to be charged.

A: I have used mine with 3Ah and 4Ah mismatched... The 3 just runs low faster. No difference noticed when both are above 50%.

A: Yes you can mismatch batteries but keep in mind that it works best with two 5 amp hr batteries.

A: It is like a worm gear saw but not actually a worm gear like the old skills saws. It cuts and fells like a worm gear it is just the internals that are different.

A: If they are Makita Battery and the connectors match prefectly I woud think yes, but I have not tried it. Since a battery is potiencially a bomb suppling to much power for extended period of time could be DANGERIOUS
