Answer This Question

A:  For the Everbilt 1/4 in. Compression Sleeves and Brass Insert Fittings (2-Pack), lead free drinking water act requires the item contains less than 0.25% lead and California requires the prop 65 warning if the item contains any lead.

    Answer This Question

A:  No, these Delrin (plastic) sleeves and brass inserts are for use with plastic tubing (PEX, LLDPE, etc.) For copper tubing, use brass sleeves only (no inserts required).

          Answer This Question

A:  This set is designed for 3/8” outside diameter vinyl tubing. For 1/2” copper pipe a standard 1/2” compression sleeve is recommended. Such as https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-1-2-in-Compression-Brass-Sleeve-Fittings-3-Pack-801169/207176399.

Utilized in sharkit 3/8 compressions shut off, issue getting sleeve into fitting
I initially had issues getting the brass sleeve into the compression fitting, I was using 1/4ID polyprolyene tubing (Adding water filter to kitchen sink). The issue is the ferrel and brass would appear to be in, but after tightening the nut, the tube would poly tube would pull right off... (good thing I didn't open up the valve yet). I had to tap the brass sleeve into the compression housing then I could get enough of the hose in for the ferrule/sleeve to lock on to. Leak free on first use and saves me $3-5 getting an adapter, Advice to others, ensure brass fitting is deep into the compression receiving then insert tub and sleeve, hand tighten with firm pressure pushing tube in, then wrench on the nut, tug agressively on tube after you think it is fully tightened before turning water on. They say you need the brass sleeve to prevent the plastic from deforming over time and leaking. Worth the $1-2 to do it right and not have to fix a leak later.

Brass insert too wide for the compression fitting
In the end, I was able to get the tubing (the tubing seated fine by itself) with the inserts to seat into the compression fitting. Others have commented the same. An FYI, you may have the same issue. I just kept pushing and working it back and forth until it "snapped" in to the seat of the fitting. Tightened down the nut.......it worked fine with no leakes.

                It works!
Solved the issue of hooking my Keurig and Coffee Maker to a water line. No leaks!

                  It worked! (unlike other brand!!!)
On Monday I purchased another brand (and same size nut fitting) at another store to hook up the water supply to my new refrigerator. The tolerances on the parts didn't work well together and the tube and insert popped right out through the compression nut fitting. These parts actually work with the same brand compression nut fitting, so thank you Home Depot for saving us the trouble of haggling with the plumber for not providing the fitting for the appliance guys to connect to!
