        A:  Hi wondering! Thanks for reaching out. The Mohawk Home Pantaleone Indigo 8 ft. x 10 ft. Oriental Area Rug is not OEKO-TEX certified. Mohawk rugs are not chemically treated. The only smell that would be on the rug would be from the plastic wrapping that is used to protect the area rug while in storage in our warehouse and during shipping. After removing the area rug from the plastic bag the smell should subside in about a week. You can always “air” the rug outside on a pretty day to help speed up the process.
