A: Hello, This item is rated for 100 lbs. This is installed with a nail into stud, and shouldn't rip off your drywall. Please follow instructions carefully. Thank you for your inquiry.

Q:Spec, says 30lbs maximum, must this be achieved with the nail that goes into the stud? What if no stud, just into the drywall? what would be the max weight? The spec. no stud is necessary...
Thanks.

A: If single hook with nail should be fine unless dry wall in bad shape. Two hooks, the weight is distributed, i never tried 30lbs on single hook, if frame is that heavy usr 60lb bigger hook for peace of mind.

A: Hi Chol.
The OOK 100 lb. Brass-Plated Steel Conventional Picture Hooks (2-Pack) is a great choice for hanging a framed mirror. Be sure to use a laser leveler to ensure a horizontal line between the two hooks.

Be sure to place felt pads on the bottom of the mirror frame, left and right side.
For best results, try to find a stud to mount the hooks into. It should be OK without the studs, but try to see if there is a stud in your mounting area.

Q:Picture and specs lead me to only one conclusion: nails are sold separately.

A: Yes, the pack at home depot comes with the nails and hook. The nails are the same color and our thin, so the hole in the wall is very small. This is the main reason for the 5 stars!

Q:If the mirror I would like to hang is 50 lbs then should I use 2 of the 30lb hooks?

Answer This Question
A: Definitely not. The pound ratings are not cumulative. If your mirror weighs 50lbs then I would use 75lb hooks at a minimum (I'd recommend 100lb hooks) if you nail it into a stud. If you are not nailing into a stud than I would choose an alternative means of hanging the mirror. Even the 100lb hooks would not suffice in that case.
