A:  No, this is for the male hose end. You need the female version to attach to the hose bib faucet.

A:  It does not. It is a “male” connection. A nozzle or trigger sprayer attaches to this connection.

A:  Both sizes 5/8 and 3/4 are considered to be "typical". I think you would be most happy with 3/4 as I , but it depends on how much water flow you want and what your household water pressure is. I am usually disappointed when I use a 5/8 hose.

A:  Thanks for your question. Although there's no warning about lead, the California Proposition 65 warning includes a notice for arsenic content. Prop 65 does not attempt to determine safe levels of toxic materials, so it's up to the consumer to use the general warning to make an informed decision.

A:  Brief overview of the repair process: Neatly trim the end of the hose that you want repaired. Insert the brass fitting into the end of the hose. Then screw the metal brackets together, thereby clamping the hose over the brass fitting. There is no place to put a washer in this process. After you have made the repair and wish to connect the female end of another hose or wish to connect something like a spray nozzle, then, yes, by all means use a washer to ensure a good seal between whatever you're connecting and the newly repaired hose. The washer fits inside the female end of whatever you're connecting.

A:  No washer is needed for this male adaptor. Neither does it need a metal strap. The female adaptor needs a washer, but I believe it comes with one.
