Q:Will It Work On Pressure Washer Hose?

A:  No. This splice is for garden hose repairs.

A:  No, we do not recommend using this on anything other than a standard garden hose.

A:  Doubt it. It wouldn’t even stay/work on a regular hose. It’s made of very cheap plastic. It’s a piece of junk, so I retuned it!

A:  I'm just an end user, so I don't know for sure. But, I have used this product to repair garden hose, and I would say, there is probably no way that the manufacturer would recommend using it for pressure washer hose. I actually didn't have the greatest luck with regular hose repair.

A:  Yes, this can be used for that function.

            by|Jul 13, 2022

A:  It’s supposed to, but it doesn’t. Flimsy plastic ,as they used to be made of metal. I returned it b/c it was junk.

              by|Jul 14, 2022

A:  yes but you need to soak the hose in hot water first in order to slide the ends onto the "brass" center piece. You need to have both pieces clean andsquare.

                by|Jul 13, 2022

A:  why yes, yes it will !

                  by|Jul 15, 2022

A:  Yes. I use them to splice 2 hoses together or when a long hose springs a leak, I cut out the punctured section and this then lets me connect the 2 undamaged lengths together. These are extremely well build and so far, none have developed any leaks. I think they are one of the, if not the best splicers on the market.

A:  It won't fit. The barb itself will work with hose clamps but not with the clamp they sell it with.

A:  I don’t have a video but it fit my hose fine. Cut the hose with a sharp knife at the leak remove the leaking area. Unscrew and remove the clamps on the fitting.  Use the fitting to connect the two pieces of hose by inserting each end of the fitting into a piece of hose. I had to use a  little force to get it to fit. Screw the clamps back onto each side of the fitting to secure the fitting and the leak should be fixed.

Does not work on heavy duty hoses
The fitting is difficult to insert into 5/8” rubber hoses. And the clamps are too small and screws too short to clamp over the hose using both screws. Used c-clamps to squeeze it tight did not work. This fitting may work with light duty hoses.

                                Strong, doesn't fit 3/4"
This would only fit a three-quarter inch hose if your hose wall was 1/16 of an inch thick. I don't know if a real garden hose like that exists! Maybe a super cheap hose from the internet, haha. The should have noted this on the packaging. I'll be attempting to return my open package product to Home Depot. What a waste for everyone involved. The metal quality is fantastic, 2 stars.

The screws seem to be soft. Make sure to use the proper size screwdriver and enough pressure so as not to strip the screws. I was able to screw them tight enough to almost close the clamp.

Mechanical engineer recommends Orbit hose coupling vs couplings that use worm gear hose clamps
My 5/8" ID (3/4" OD) garden hose developed a bulge in it about a year ago so I knew that one day the hose would fail at that location. That day has come so I bought this coupling to repair my hose. I cut out a 1" section in the hose where the failure occurred with a 1-1/2" Poly Pipe Cutter by BrassCraft. The sharp blade cut right through the rubber hose like butter. I sprayed some WD40 on the barbed ends of the coupler and then wriggled the two hose ends onto the coupling all the way up to the hex nut in the middle. I placed each pair of couplings over the hose, one side at a time, squeezing them together before putting the screws in. There was enough compression so that when my screwdriver turned the screws, they engaged with the other side of each coupling. I them tightened them until they were snug. I alternated between each screw as I tightened the coupling to get even compression on both sides of the coupling. I ended up with just under a 1/8" gap all the way around each coupling. Absolutely no leaks when I turned on the hose. I prefer this coupling vs the standard hose clamps for two reasons. This has a nice clean look all the way around and doesn't have a potential to cut or snag something like the standard hose clamp does. Yes, its made in China, but so is almost everything else these days.

It was a very tight fit for 5/8" but once I had the hose ends in place and the screws down right there were no leaks whatsoever. Good product even if it was made in China.

My 3/4-inch garden hose, which is constantly under pressure, sprung a pinhole leak after about 5 years. It would have cost about $60 to replace it with a high-quality hose. I decided to try this. Cut the hose right at the pinhole leak, Fully unscrewed and removed the retainers. Slid the bass repair tube inside, then placed the retainers, applied some pressure to get them close enough for the screws to match, and screwed them down tightly. Overall a very easy process. After a couple of weeks it is working perfectly. The hose is still under pressure with absolutely no leaking. This worked great and saved me over $50. I'd absolutely use it again.
