A: You need to purchase the 4x4 separately. This post kit requires a 72" wooden 4x4 (actually measures 3.5x3.5) You will need to bury 24" and have 48" above ground.

Q:Why would you imply that this mailbox that fits over a4x4 perhaps not fit an existing 4x4, one 4x4 is as good an another unless it is warped and that’s pretty hard to do. So I’m getting this mailbox, bottom line it better fit as advertised

A: A pressure treated 4x4 post does vary in size from time to time. If the post you purchase is 3.5 x 3.5 it will work.

A: You can paint this mailbox and post kit but Postal Pro cannot guarantee that the paint will last. You need to make sure you use a primer or paint and primer combination that is formulated to stick to plastic.

A: 55 inches - but the existing wood post will need to be very straight so that the Lexington post components will fit over it properly.
