Answer This Question

A:  Craig, sandy soils are too loose and are not recommended for Sika PostFix.

Q:Can ONE two-pound kit or bag set be used to out up 2 4x4 posts that will be used to build an orduidarium with a simple roof with a few slats? It won't hold up a lot of weight, but I'd like those posts secure, obviously.

    Answer This Question

A:  HughJazzol, for this application we would recommend setting your 4x4 posts in holes that are 10" in diameter by 36" deep and this will require 2 bags of Sika PostFix each.

Q:Due to extremely rocky soil, I will only be able to dig the holes 24" deep. This is shallower than the 36"- 48" that is specified. The posts are just to hold up wire fencing. Will this work?

      Won’t last
I thought why not, in my head I knew it wouldn’t last. I’ve seen the foam buoys that rot apart. Well it lasted almost 4 years, had I used the bag of concrete at half the price I wouldn’t be spending my beautiful Saturday digging out the post to re set it in “longer lasting” old fashioned concrete

I watched the videos and read instructions before using this product. The one part we struggled with was getting the internal seal to pop to mix the two solutions together. It didn’t foam up right away, so I used a stick to mix up the solution in the hole. It eventually started foaming up around the mailbox post. It looked like a mushroom cloud! Cutting it apart to remove the excess was easily done with a hand saw and chisel. I recommend for a mailbox post.

        Burst in my face
I’ve used many of these packs before but today while rolling to mix the bag burst and part A sprayed in my face. Fortunately it washed off my arms and face but my coat is ruined. I’ll never try it again as the consequences of the bag failing are too dire.

          The bag exploded
DO NOT BUY GHIS. I mixed it up for 30 seconds just like directions, grabbed the bag and was going to walk three steps to open it and pour it and it exploded all over me. They owe me new clothes and shoes.

              Buyer and user beware
I’m limited to 500 letters on this review so sorry you get this version. If you need a clean, permanent, and professional job DO NOT use this product. I might have received the one bag that had a bad spot in the seal but that’s all it took to never want to use it again. Thankfully Homedepot retuned my money. Now I now get to try and see how to remove the residue off my concrete patio and everything else it touched when the bag split open. Looks like I’m not the only one either, beware!!

                Best fence post mix
This is the BEST stuff to use for fencing, installed a vinyl fence and it is STRONG.

                Shrinks after expanding!
The product looks like it will set up nicely as it expands. However, after 24hrs of cure time the foam appears to settle and actually shrinks! This defeats the whole purpose of using an expanding foam! Wasted money and time only to have 4x4 posts covered in a foam base that wobbles back and forth. I used Fast2K applied in the gaps of this junk and it set up PERFECTLY. Recommend Fast2K over this product. No comparison.

                  lasted 1 week
I followed the instructions by the book. Some people here say theirs lasted months or even a full year. Mine became soft after 1 week.

Hi Adrian, we're sorry to hear this. Project longevity varies from customer to customer, however after only a week, there may have been other factors that effected the overall application. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions. SikaRetail
