Q:Will the adhesive attach to metal furniture? Also, does each strap have a 250 weight limit? I am looking to anchor my furniture to the wall for child safety, I am not in an earthquake zone.

Answer This Question

A:  Yes, the straps will adhere to metal surfaces. The furniture strap kit is designed as a set, to hold an object up to 500lbs. Provided that the straps are attached to wood studs. If studs are not used the fasteners strength will be greatly reduced.

Q:I have 2 cabinets where one sits directly on top of the other. I cannot secure the strap to the top of the bottom cabinet. Can I attach it to the back of the cabinets and into the wall studs? It is to prevent tipping with a child and not for a quake.

Q:Where should these be positioned on a bunk bed? It's the stacking kind with two separate beds.

          Answer This Question

A:  Our Furniture Safety Strap can certainly help fasten your bunk bed. Depending on the weight of the bed plus the included weight of potential occupancy you might need to purchase two sets of straps (one set of straps is recommended for 500 pounds or lighter). If there are two separate sections to the bed, for example if the top bunk is a separate piece and simply sits on the bottom bunk, you will need to fasten each separate piece of furniture to the wall using these straps. If you feel the adhesive mounting method is not enough for your bunk bed, we also include furniture screws when extra piece of mind is needed. Please follow all included instructions when installing the straps.

              Answer This Question

A:  The straps are on both the wall and the unit attached to. To clean you would have to unscrew from cabinet or wall which is easier. This will disconnect the cabinet and will need to be redone to secure unit back on wall.

A:  Yes, our QuakeHOLD! Safety Straps are removable for cleaning using Velcro. Simply pull the strap off of the furniture and leave the strap secured to the wall, then attach the strap to the furniture again using the Velcro.
