You stick to the wall and screw straps into the furniture on top. No one can see the straps

Will this supply enough support to a 6’ tall bookcase with five shelves? I plan on displaying some statues.

Remember that these are safety straps, not stability straps. They will be strong enough to prevent the bookcase from accidentally tipping over, but there will still be some jiggling which can occur. If your statues themselves are bottom-heavy and stable, then I’d say go for it!

It may be necessary to use more than two straps. The fish tank must be secured to the table.

Keep it simple! Use self-threading bolts suitable for securing to metal.

Is it possible to reverse the application and put the adhesive on the wall and screw in to the furniture?

Asked by Shauna253 March 6, 2017

No. The adhesive will not hold against the tremendous force of an earthquake or someone pulling on the cabinet. And the strap must be flat against the cabinet for the adhesive to hold. Also be sure the adhesive will stick securely to the furniture material; if adhesive won't stick, then screw the flat strap to the furniture with suitable screws.

Adheres to furniture, and the other side bolts to a stud in the wall, correct? Does the adhesive come off easily?

Yes that is what I used it for.

For my purposes the Quake Hold is too loose and allows the furniture to wobble. We used a metal bracket and screwed it into the furniture top and a stud in the wall and the furniture can't move at all. The product works as it was intended, we just needed a tighter hold.

It’s an easy to use product. Over all quite happy with it. I gave it 4 stars simply because if your furniture is facing sideways the strap may be seen if your crown molding is thick.

Moving a ThinHaus down the highway is just like an earthquake and you really want to make sure that the appliances don't slide around. This is how you do it. It also has the added benefit of assuring that big things don't fall on little people. All around, a great solution.
