Q:do you have a waterproof cement mix or additive to make cement waterproof ?
by|Jan 2, 2019
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: After the QUIKRETE® Polymer Modified Structural Repair has cured for a minimum of 28 days, you may consider applying either QUIKRETE® Concrete & Masonry Waterproofing Sealer (No. 8800-05), which is a water-based, highly water resistant, silane-siloxane formulation designed to waterproof and seal without changing the surface appearance, or QUIKRETE® Concrete & Masonry High Gloss Sealer (No. 8800-06), which is a water-based, high gloss, acrylic clear sealer designed to waterproof, seal, and enhance the color. Before applying sealer, make sure water will readily absorb in all areas of the application and the surface is clean and free of dirt, dust, oil, and other bond breakers. If water beads up, then the surface will need to be cleaned and any previous sealing materials would need to be removed prior to applying the sealer or the sealer will only adhere to some of the sections, which may result in an uneven appearance.

Q:What is the best product to be used as a concrete overlay
by|Jun 5, 2018
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: QUIKRETE® Polymer Modified Structural Repair is not appropriate for a large surface area (more the 2 square feet). QUIKRETE® Sand/Topping Mix is recommended for placement as a concrete overlay of 1/2 inch to 2 inches. For an application less than 1 inch thick, QUIKRETE® Sand/Topping Mix blended with QUIKRETE® Concrete Acrylic Fortifier replacing a portion of the water content is recommended. If a thicker topping, between 1 – 2 inches thick, is desired, QUIKRETE® Sand/Topping Mix may be applied after a painted on coat of QUIKRETE® Concrete Bonding Adhesive is applied and dry. Do not use QUIKRETE® Concrete Bonding Adhesive and QUIKRETE® Concrete Acryllic Fortifier in the same application.

Q:Can I patch a driveway with these STUFF.
by|May 9, 2018
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Yes, QUIKRETE® Polymer Modified is suitable for making repairs on a concrete driveway. This product is not intended to be used as a coating or over a large area (must be less than 2 square feet). Please note that the concrete substrate needs to be sound, clean, unsealed/uncoated, and free of any dust, loose debris, and any other potential bond breakers. When making repairs, getting a good color match can be difficult - we always recommend trialing a small quantity of the repair material in an inconspicuous area, and allowing it to cure for at least 24 hours to determine whether the color and overall appearance are acceptable before using the material in less discrete areas.
