A:  No, this is not battery operated.

A:  The fan is not battery operated. There is a 6.25 ft. power cord with fused safety plug attached to it. The remote control is battery operated; 2x AAA batteries.

A:  No. Only the remote is.

A:  The fan needs to be plugged into an electric outlet. The fan runs by electricity but there is a remote included, which needs 2 AAA batteries to operate it. Once the fan is plugged in, you can use the remote or you can touch the controls on the top of the fan panel.

A:  Yes, the timer is turned off by default.

A:  Fan can run without relying on the timer. Operating instruction manual is available online. A:  Yes. You should be able to put it on a separate timer with no problem. Linda

A:  Of course the fan runs without relying on the timer. The timer is an optional feature to be used when the fan is on. You can use the remote for everything. Use the remote to run the fan then time it to run and turn off after a specific length of time.
