A:  It is PEX-B. Most of the stores don't stock PEX-A , especially short lengths. You can order coils of PEX-A.

A:  It is rated for 200 psi water pressure so I don't see why not as long as you stay under the max rating. One other thing to be mindful of- pex deteriorates with UV light exposure, so keep it protected from direct sunlight.

A:  Hello, SharkBite PEX tubing has only been approved for use with water in potable and radiant/hydronic heating applications. We do not recommend this tubing for use with air as we have no testing to support its reliability in this application. If you have additional questions please don't hesitate to reach out to our technical support department at 877-700-4242. Best Regards,

              Answer This Question

A:  SharkBite PEX pipe is PEX B. You are correct that it is not compatible with the expansion tool and style pipe that contracts onto a barb fitting. However, our pipe can be used with our barb fittings and either the stainless steel clamps/tool or copper crimp rings/tool, or our SharkBite push to connect fittings. Our pipe is flexible and will expand and contract as it is freeze resistant but again not in regards to using it with the expansion tool.
