Zinc-Plated Heavy-Duty Screw Anchor has not been tested and does not have any published allowable tension (withdrawal) or shear values when installed in unreinforced masonry (URM or common brick). A:  Hey Erik, this is Ricardo. We do not suggest wet-setting these anchors because there is no installation guidelines that support it. The THD anchors are designed to cut as they are screwed in. Any other installation process cannot be supported by SIMPSON. Maybe going with a threaded rod would be a better option? Please call us at 800-999-5099 if you have any further questions.

Installing into green concrete can alter the performance and may result in a reduction of load. A:  Hello BobF, this is Ricardo with Simpson. I believe the chart is referring to the minimum fixture hole size. This is speaking of the size of the hole in what is being attached to the concrete. The hole size that should be drilled into the concrete is the same as the anchor, 5/8". If you would like to discuss this more in detail, please contact our Technical Support team at 800-999-5099.
