Q:It says "single phase"... does that mean for this box you can't have a mix of 120 and 240 breakers using the neutral?

A: Single phase is 120/240. Some people think it’s called 2 phase.
You can have 120 or 240 or 12/0/240 circuits in this panel. (If using it as sub panel, you need a separate ground buss bar like the pk7gta. The green screw that comes with the box shouldn’t be used.)
by|Dec 25, 2021
A: You can use both 120 and 240 volt breakers.
by|Dec 24, 2021
A: It can be used for 110 or 220 or both
by|Dec 25, 2021
A: Yes that is how I am using it, for lights and welder.. Don't forget to buy ground bar, it doesn't come with one and for a sub panel the ground and common are separated. Also a ground rod may be necessary.
by|Dec 22, 2021
A: You can mix 120V and 240V circuits in this panel provided that you supply it with 4 wires. 2 hot legs, one neutral and one ground.

A: Hi Fred,
That's exactly what I did. Split my lights and plugs into two circuits, one on each breaker. 15 amp will be fine for the lights and will power small electric hand tools like a drill or hedge trimmer just fine. I have also run a battery charger off that line with no problem.

A: Hello Fred,

Q:Do you make some type of door that can be attached to this box so that the breakers are enclosed from the front? If not, is there some other option? Like a plumbers access panel or even something like a silicone iPhone case? Anything that conceals the breakers from view. Thanks!

A: We offer a similar load center with a door included. Catalog number is QO612L100DS.

A: The outdoor load center has a cover that flips over it. The part number is QO6-12L100RB. I assume this is for your house. Why not use the Homeline series and save a few bucks. The part numbers are the same, but the pre-fix is changed from QO to HOM. It is important that electrical equipment be installed only by qualified personal.

Q:maybe i overlooked this, but Is there a ground bar included with this sub-panel? I see where Schneider/SqD replied in another question "that a separate ground bar and neutral bar are required in a sub-panel", but no mention whether one is included or not (that I see), OR what the ground bar number(s) is/are for this panel. *From my experience with Square D, the ground bar is not included in main lug panels, but is needed. It makes no sense that I'm having to search for this and wait for an answer...

A: What are you suppling current to with this load center? 30 amps means largest conductor (wire) size is #10. Generally, you could use 2 30amp breakers (bridged) or 2 separate 15amp breakers.30amps/240 volts is common for electric water heaters.

A: Hello Harry,
A QO single pole breaker is ok for 120 VAC. You can use two of them maximum in this load center. This is a 2 space/2 circuit panel, accepting full size QO branch circuit breakers only. The 30 ampere panel rating should not be exceeded, or 25 ampere when aluminum feeder wire is used.

Q:How can I feed a 30A wire to two 15A breakers with this load center? It look like the two hot input terminals of this load center are not connected. Using a jumper wire doesn't feel right to me.

A: Hello Rickey,
The wire range for the QO612L100SCP is #8-#1. You can use aluminium or copper wire.
For the breakers, you have to plug them into the busbar.
In case you require a ground bar, you can use the PK7GTA.

A: You will probably feed the box with 10/3 w/g and that usually calls for a 1" clamp.
If the wire leaving the box is also 10/3 w/g, again you'll use a 1" clamp. If the circuit breaker is 15 or 20 amp and the wire leaving the box is #12 or #14, you can use a ½" clamp.

A: Hi Hempifier:
It depends on whether the breaker(s) you put into the box are single-pole or double-pole, and whether the device(s) it serves require a neutral wire. If you use a 30-amp double-pole breaker to supply a dryer with a 3-wire plug, then 10/2 with ground is OK. It is also OK to use a larger wire like 6/2 with ground.
If your breakers are single-pole, or if you use a double-pole breaker to supply a device that requires a neutral wire (like a hot tub heater) then you'll need to feed the box with separate neutral and ground wires to stay within the code.
Make sense?

A: Nothing smaller than 10 gauge wire should be use! 30 amp breaker’s are rated at least 10g! However, anything greater is just overkill for this box!

A: Hello Hempfier,
The wire range for the QO2L30SCP is #12-#10 if you use aluminium wire or #14-#10 if you use copper wire.
If you need a ground bar for the load center, you can use the PK3GTA1.
