A:  According to the Palraf literature on their website, the Suntuf panels use the squared-off corrugation with 3" centers (spacing) and 5/8" depth. The closure strips for Suntuf match this pattern.

A:  You would need to check with the vendor for metal roofing regarding the closure strips they offer. We cannot guarantee our closures will work with another company's product.

A:  No, these are made for the Pollycarbonate plastic panels. But they are horrible for even that application.

A:  These are designed to fit the Palram - "Sun Tuff" panels - but some slight modification may be necessary to get a good fit. I found the panels in the floor rack were somewhat scratched up from too much handling, but the associates were good enough to get some nice clean ones off the high rack.. Note, the strips are 24" long but the panels are 26" This is necessary because the panels over-lap along the edges to ensure a good seal (I used clear silicone sealant at the over-laps to help ensure no leaks - but don't rely on that unless there is a steep angle to shed water - use some sense - the overlap is not water-tight and if the water in the channels gets deep enough it will flow inside - see my picture

A:  The closure strips support the panels and are recommended. I place a row of closure strips on every purlin (cross piece of the rafter). Purlins are 24 inch centers up the rafters. When properly placed the closure strips greatly aid in placing the panels. I recommend using the plastic closure strips instead of the wood ones.

A:  I think that they are more rigid in high winds. I have 5 cross members in the 12' length and nail securely through three high points.

A:  I was not aware of this when I started the roof. They flex too much without the extra support and I am now going to have to pull the entire thing apart and redo it. Save yourself the headache and extra work and use them!

A:  That depends on your usage, reliability desired, and so forth. The strips will help with stability, particularly in wind, hail, and so forth, especially on the outside edge of the roofing. I just use mine as a rain cover, and I chose to use the strips for better durability. They are not hard to use and they are cheap.

A:  We recommend putting the fasteners into the peak of the panels. The closure strips help support the panels when securing the fastener. We do not recommend valley fastening because water could settle there and could result in leaks.

A:  I don't recommend it as the strips act as purlins to give support - but if your rafters are 12" O.C. or less you might get away with it. But in any case, be sure to predrill pilot holes in both the panels and the closure strips. If you don't use closure strips, be prepared for rain to come in - especially if there is wind associated.
