Garbage!!
If you want a Professional looking job order the plastic ones from California. These wooden ones DO NOT Match the contour of SunTuf panels. This leads to 'crunching' sections to make them fit. And they SPLIT! Very bad. Even after predrilling every screw hole they still split, small pieces slitting off. or the whole section breaking. I Used the plastic once on the first roof and they work so smooth, no predrilling and perfect fit. It took some time to receive them but worth the wait compared to using this Garbage!

Had to use over a hundred of these guys for our pergola roof. Painted each one before installation in my garage. They are built to be installed with a slight gap between each piece so you have to install them as you lay the panels for the correct spacing but onece you have a process in place it goes pretty smoothly.

These work fine if pre-drilled, otherwise expect splitting. When one piece among five arrived broken in the pack, it was easy to gorilla glue it back together to make it usable again. I haven't tried the hard plastic version of closure strips, but have used the foam version which I found wiggly and much harder to apply in a straight line. With wood closure strips my lines of screws across the roof were nice and straight. I pre-positioned each strip with a couple of tiny nails, then pre-drilled through the roofing and wood closure strips before screwing them both down to wood purlins beneath.

drilling pilot holes is a must to prevent splitting. the wood is not the best and there are irregularities. but i like them because they go with the old wood i used. the fit was good and they look good. finish was good. none of mine where broken. i only had to trim the end of one of the strips, but it was only very slightly. over all i think the value was good for my project. i am happy with fit, finish and function

Although I suggest drilling pilot holes is 'almost' essential', I find it also necessary to "custom fit" each strip to the polycarbonate panels as the ends are not uniform relative to the panels. That is, my 12 foot run did not come out properly aligned and I wound up having to distort some of the panels to get a good seal - also, good idea to use clear silicone sealant. I would suggest the foam closures would be more forgiving when it comes to alignment, but I question if they would stand up the the heat generated in a solar powered space heating enclosure.

          Looks great!
While this product is designed for a different purpose than I used it for, it works absolutely great as a exterior decorative trim. I used it both where the walls meet the eaves, and at the drip-edge of the roof (see photo).

It breaks easily, not tough enough.the wood strips would break before taking out off package.they need to be wider and made off hardier wood.it is cheap product.

Disappointed in thisand home Depot for stocking it
I got these for suntuf panels and they match the top of the panels but are rounded on the lower edge of the panels so they leak air and do not seal and let bugs in . I assumed these would fit square edge suntuf panels exactly as advertised for but they leak, making these mostly pointless other than providing some support, home Depot should discontinue stocking this product and carry the plastic exact fit version of this product which for some mentally challenged reason they dont

Knots, holes and cracks. 2 out of 5 in each package were unusable, either because of knots or cracks, or because the milling was extremely rough and unfinished. On my next roofing project I'll go with the plastic roof spacers.

The product works but you must line up them carefully to the roof so that everything fits good. Then your roof will lay flat

They break really easy when putting them on. Very brittle.

            They all crack. Don’t buy.
Almost every single one of these cracked long ways or broke in half while installing. Even being super careful with torque, they just don’t work. Returning for the plastic ones.

These are awful so thin and easy to damage. I know now why some stores carry the plastic or composite ones.

I found out the hard way that anchoring the SunTuf panels to this product requires pre-drilling. I wish the store in Tacoma sold the plastic closure strips which I had to purchase online only. I will be returning the wooden strips for a refund when I finish replacing them with plastic.

              warped, knotted and easily splits
Check bundle for warped and badly knotted pieces. Then be sure to predrill them--yes a lot of additional work, as they will split. They are needed to support polycarbonate panels, and are said to outlast their plastic counterparts.
