A:  Your question is very general. If you are asking about the size of predrill bit for the one way screws supplied with the unit, I use a 1/4" bit at least 4 inches long.

A:  I'm not sure. It's not a heavy gauge mesh like some that are a perforated screen. It will dent, and possibly leave a hole if an heavy object presses too hard against it. I would have rather the screen have been the perforated metal instead of the expanded metal......but it has served me well so far.

A:  I don't know what gauge it is but knats can not get in. It's thick, but,we get air flow. We love it. We have it on our enclosed patio.

A:  Thank you for your interest in our Arcada Security Door. The Arcada has an expanded metal screen which has diamond shaped openings. Each opening measures approcimately 1/8 inch in diameter. Additionally the top and bottom of the door is not fully sealed as it is meant to go over your primary exterior door. I hope this information is helpful for you.

A:  This screen keeps out most insects. I've only seen very tiny gnat-like insects get through.

A:  We installed the door in a remodel project and do not have own experience using it. But I would sayI it keeps the most of the flying insects out depending on the size. But it is not as tight as a regular window screen because there are small gaps between the doorframe and the doors as well as in the middle between the two door wings. If the interior door would left open during the night and there would be light inside the room attracting insects, I can imagine that some insects would make it through those little gaps. If someone wants to make it real tight he would have to seal everything around the doorframe and probably seal the gap between the frame and the doors with self gluing foam tapes. A:  The screen is heavy metal and is not replaceable. Not likely to get damaged after it is installed, but you would have to replace the whole door if it was.I did see one damaged in the store but it either fell over on something sharp, or was hit by a forklift and tore the screen.
