A:  Viranda, unfortunately, we do not have any testing to suggest that these post caps would fix a Trex post. However, it is important to note that these post caps are specifically designed to fit a 4"X4" composite post.

A:  Sandi, These post caps should fit firmly on the posts, but if you are concerned with them blowing off or in a high wind area, we recommend using vinyl fence cement Model # 125945.

A:  Hello Chan, That will depend on the dimensions of the post. According to the product page, this post cap fits nominal size 4x4 posts. The cap is slightly larger than the post that it is designed to fit on.

A:  Its designed to fit a common VINYL (specifically Veranda brand)4x4 post sleeve, not the wooden 4x4's sold today. It would technically fit, but extremely loosely. Look for post caps sized at 3-5/8"X3-5/8".

A:  Yes using 100% Acrylic paint. PVC vinyl expands & contracts. Not saying it would affect it. I haven’t painted mine. I do use 30 Second cleaner because in Fla it gets mildew.

A:  Vinyl is a non-porous material, therefore, paint doesn’t adhere to it well. Only epoxy-based paint will stick to vinyl over an extended period of time, but paint can damage the vinyl’s surface and thus voids the warranty.

A:  Not sure what you mean by "post jacket", but the it's a sloppy fit over a standard PT 4x4.

A:  The cap goes directly over the post. No need to make the post taller than the jacket.
