Questions and Answers for Westinghouse Ceiling Fan Wall Switch

A:  Thank you for your question. Our 7787200-ceiling fan wall control is a generic ceiling fan wall control switch and requires a two-wire installation in the junction box. If you are uncertain if this will work with your ceiling fan, we recommend you contact the manufacturer of your fan for compatibility information.

A:  Thank you for your question. This ceiling fan speed switch is only to operate the fan speeds. This cannot be used to operate the light kit of the fan. We recommend using a ceiling fan and light wall mount control to operate the fan speeds and the light kit separately. Westinghouse Lighting offers different ceiling fan and light wall controls that can be used. A:  Thank you for your question. Our 7787200-ceiling fan speed control cannot be used with DC motor ceiling fans. This is only designed for use with AC motor ceiling fans.

A:  Thank you for your question. Our 7787200-ceiling fan wall control is not wireless. This wall control requires a 2-wire installation in the junction box. This does not come with a remote control. This wall control is CUL certified and runs operate 120 volts. The electrical instructions are listed under Additional Resources on the website page. If you are uncertain if this will work for you, we recommend contacting a local electrician for assistance.

A:  Just one more reply. See the question asked by JT on March 11, 2020 about wiring two fans to this and the reply from WESTINGHOUSE SUPPORT on March 12, 2020 with their answer of NO !!!

A:  I am not an electrician but I believe this was designed for just one (1) fan. It may be possible to hook up more fans to this if all wiring was in the same place, i.e. two fans in same room, however, you would need to be sure that the total amperage of all fans combined does not exceed the maximum amperage for this device (1.25 amps) as stated in the specifications. You need to add together the total amperage used by each fan on HIGH. It would probably just be better to get one for each fan just to be safe.

A:  Thank you for your question. You can only control one (1) ceiling fan with this fan wall control.

A:  As a follow up to my last reply, the SAFETY PRECAUTIONS sheet for this device states that it is intended for use with JUST ONE FAN.

A:  Thank you for your question. This wall control requires a 2 wire installation and if you are uncertain if this ceiling fan wall control will work with your ceiling fan then we recommend contacting your ceiling fan manufacturer for assistance.

A:  It is impossible to say without knowing the fan and the wiring in place if you are using existing wiring. The switch directly controls a power wire which then goes to a fan to control its fan speed. So for it to work there need to be such a wire, and your fan need to allow such speed control.
