The Makita tracks have very good high friction backing strips that keep the track from slipping without requiring any clamping, so for eight foot cuts, two 55” tracks will work much better.
I don't know, so I Googled it and found an article in Popular Woodworking. They reviewed the Makita SP6000, the Festool TS55 and the DeWalt DWS520 and concluded that the Festool and Makita tracks were so close that you could link them together. And they said that the Festool rides on a Makita track. There's more and I recommend you look up the article.
