Can I put two 55 inch tracks together to make it 110 for 8 foot panels

Asked by: Moseybrown
Yes, but you will need a makita connector for this. Accuracy may not be as good as getting a 110 track.

what is the stock #'s for the connectors for Makita 55" guide rail?

Asked by: Ken
Sorry for the late response...this will help others just now buying this saw though. The Makita connectors for this rail are something like $26 each which is expensive considering you need to of them for a stable connection. Surprisingly, the Festool 482107 Rail Connectors are only $17 each and they will work with the Makita track. Make sure to get 2 of them for a stable connection.

I have XSS02Z cordless circular saw, would it work with this track?

Asked by: will
The Makita 194368-5, 55 in. Plunge Saw Guide Rail, is intended to be used with the Makita SP6000J, 6- 1/2 in. Plunge Circular Saw. Makita does not recommend using accessories or attachements other than those specifically made for the tool being used. Please refer to your instruction manual for other compatibility questions.

Customer Reviews

55 in. Plunge Saw Guide Rail is rated 3.1 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great... There is some serious lack of quality control issues with these makita tracks. I have not been able to get one that is totally flat and straight. Check before using. Defeats the purpose of a track saw if you can't get a straight cut...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No Poor quality extrusions, guide is cupped and doesn't sit flat. I've had several of these that were like this. Not perfectly straight either, curved along the lenght.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Curveball Gone through several of these guide rails and can't find two that are perfectly straight or the same exact dimensions. Poor quality Chinese manufacturing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Track Not straight and nor was the replacement. Not happy...

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Make sure to measure before cutting... I hate to leave a less-than-5 star review on this, but the fact is, those who are buying this are probably using it to connect to another rail, and Makita is not holding tolerances on this very well at all. This because a huge problem when you mate it with another rail, because when you set your saw gibs to be tight on one rail and the rails aren't the same dimension (even by 0.2mm), that means it will be noticeably loose or so tight you can't move the saw to the other. They either need to fix their quality control, or sell rails as a pair that are the same size, because as of now, you can't buy a second rail and expect it to fit; you need to buy 3 or 4 and keep the two closest fitting ones, and return the ones that don't work together.

Initially ordered via internet to save a few dollars but first track was bowed (which is a common problem). Returned and order via HD website so I could inspect upon arrival and reject if necessary. It was not bowed and works great with Makita saw. Clean, smooth cuts. Best deal available with track saws. I did a lot of research before pulling the trigger on the Makita set up.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Guide had a 1/2 bow across its length. Utterly unusable.... Guide had a 1/2 bow across its length. Utterly unusable. I didn't even need to sight down it or compare it to a straight edge to see it. Terrible quality control. Very disappointed. No stars for the loss of time for needing to return it in he first place, two stars for making the return easy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Guide rail works great, but it is not quite long... Guide rail works great, but it is not quite long enough for cutting 48 inch plywood with the Makita cordless saw. The back end of the guide rail adapter is not engaged for the first three or 4 inches of the cut, so it is necessary to make a little plunge maneuver to start the cut.
