Q:Would this work on 1970 vinyl tiles applied w/adhesive directly to the wood which then had vinyl sheet flooring adhered directly on top of that by a so-called pro installer? Mom laid tiles way before how-to videos to help, "pro" made it worse, total mess!

A: Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot.
Yes. this would work well for removing the existing flooring. You may also want to try Internet #202046244 Easy Release 1 Gal. Adhesive Remover to help with the double layers, and make the removal a little easier.

A: Best to try contacting Customer Service as there doesn't seem to be an extension handle made by Zenith available. Often Customer Service has manufacture info that is helpful. Maybe the floor tool handle threads match that of typical extension handle/poles and one of the many Home Depot sells will fit and be suitable for your needs. Again, Customer Service, the Special Orders Desk can help.

A: The blade is wide, but not sharp, so you're probably going to rip the staples out rather than cutting right through them.

A: I think so, it is heavy duty. any staple i have seen is an easy one for this.

A: Yes. The tool edge is sharp. Can be sharpened if it bends rather than cuts staples. The concern would be handle taking hammering. The metal inserted into handle likely doesn't go past the hole, (see attached photos), the weakest aspect of this rugged tool. But for the price if it got through this one job would be well worth the cost. If not it is returnable to Home Depot for 180 days and might qualify for the manufacturers limited lifetime warranty. The handle is pretty tough, has stood up well to hammering required to remove trim so it might not be an issue at all. I'd recommend trying, this tool is exactly as stated- more uses, less tools, saves you cash! Great versatile tool.

A: I believe this would work but would require the use of hammer. However I believe over the use that you need it that the handle end will fail.

Q:In Overview list, what is "ideal for 710"?

Answer This Question
A: Likely 710 refers to trim.
710 is base board and crown molding.
This tool is great for removing both and most other trim. That's what I use it for. Often the tool alone can get behind trim and remove without hammering or damaging the wall.

A: 710 is a type of baseboard, it's tall and this tool would allow it to pry away from the wall with ease using that wedge.

A: I think, it means 7"-10" high trim or baseboard.
