I used this item for a axel rod on a parrot cage I modified into a rabbit cage ,for easier portability, it worked great.....

I bought and cut it in half to use as winding bars for my garage door spring. Worked great.

Cut it in half to make two rods for adjusting torsion springs on a garage door.

I bought this rod to use as an axle for a lawn tractor trailer I built. It is very strong. Handles tires fine.

Everything you'd ever want or expect from a 1/2 inch x 36 inch zinc-plated rod. I used mine as garage door spring winding bars. Only your imagination limits your use. Dream big DIYer!

Product is what it is nothing special

Used the 5/8" rod for the axle on an electric go-kart. The zinc plating will prevent rust. Would work well for any type of wagon, cart, or dolly axle. Many standard 10" and 13" pneumatic tires with ball bearings need a 5/8" axle shaft. I recommend this.

Replaced the 3/4" axle on my cart with this 5/8" rod because I couldn't find solid rubber wheels with 3/4" hubs. It sleeved perfectly inside 1/2" conduit so that it would fit all the brackets under the cart (conduit has about 1/16" walls), trimmed the conduit a few inches shorter so the wheels could fit onto the 5/8" rod. Works great.

Used it to make an axle for my tandem wheelbarrow. Drilled nice and clean; deburred on the benchtop grinder. Works great.

Will I recommend this product? Depends what you're going to use it for. For my purpose it is not good: it is undersized and bearings with 5/8" ID are wobbling on it.

Made an excellent pair of garage door winding bars, an absolute necessity when balancing your garage door. I simply cut the bar in half, ground off all the burrs, and taped a depth indicator on the end of each bar.

Perfect to set my wooden whirligig on to keep it up high enough to catch the wind, on my porch railing. Easy to cut with metal hand saw to get the best length. I could have looked for other shorter lengths but now I have some left over for another project.

Actually I never used the product, I had another solution before I needed it. That being said I think it was exactly as advertised and, although it is several thousands undersize, it would have performed it's function perfectly in my application.

It solved my needs in a restricted time needed to fix my garage door. Thank for being a store to rely and count on when needed! Very glad Home Depot exists!

Used this for an axel on my riding lawn mower trailer. Drilled holes in each end to hold the pins that keep the tires on. Worked perfectly!

Works great for adjusting the garage door springs. I could it in half to make two levers.
