I use these to make small furniture items and for facing wooden shelves and parts of bookcases. Just bought a couple today to make inside stop for some windows. I have some planks of poplar in the shed and use that too. The grain on Douglas Fir is more noticeable when painted or sprayed but it doesn’t get dented as easily. I love that HD are carrying this stuff. It’s great stuff. Back in the 90s I used to buy nice. 2x6s in the lumber yard but it disappeared years ago. Very happy it’s back

Served my purpose well.

These can be used outside but are not pressure-treated and would need to be painted or sealed if used in wet areas or they will rot quickly. I have used these mostly when constructing work benches as they serve as good stocky legs. They are kiln-dried but still can warp slightly as the remainder of the wood dries out over time. The only pain when purchasing these, is picking through the pile for a quality piece.

I just used 10 of these to make deck posts.The wood is very poor quality.

I purchased it instore. The store attendant in that department cut to 6 feet for me.

Nice and straight

We're using this as rail edges for our bar tops, it's a nice sturdy & great looking piece that can be sanded & stained to match the slab cedar bar tops & will look great against the bar fronts in cedar as well... In my opinion, keep the tags on the ends instead of stamping the actual lumber, so it will help the user have a beautiful project when it's done! We're still workin on it, but I have included a pic below of where we were starting on it, anyone looking to see the finished product, come on out to Shifters Roadhouse near Coldspring, TX & have a look for yourself. Best time to take a look is on Saturdays, we can only work on this project on weekends right now but it is looking super awesome!!! We LOVE home Depot & I think the Huntsville, TX location is my favorite of all that I have ever been to - they have folks who are willing to come ask if you need any help, whereas some store have orange aprons who see ya looking around & they go the other way to avoid ya... The Store Manager here is definitely doing something right & encouraging the employees to make a difference in their customers shopping experience, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

This is one product I always use and stock up on for holiday projects. Hardly ever find a bad board and always a decent stock.

Straight lumber

Great 4x4s! Recently I purchased these to build a small utility island for our small kitchen, ran them through the planer, sanded and they were beautiful after being stained

These 4 x 4 (3.5 x 3.5 act.) Were used for bed posts , had to sort through for presentable ones, but for their intended use they are a bargain

The untreated 4 X 4 is primarily used for my woodworking projects. The wood works great with my router.

Lumber was true with no warp, checks or knots. Makes a great and chemical free border around a raised vegetable garden.

The post worked great for my needs. I cut it down to 1." X 1" X 8' boards for a boat I am building. It was easy to work with.

Home Depot has great lumber

Needed 4x4 lumber cut into specific lengths. The young lady did an AWESOME job cutting the wood as I needed. She was so helpful and cheery. That’s why I went to Home Depot! Knew I’d get what I needed.

I was told by a HD associate that what I purchased was “Treated” lumber. If is not treated, I wish to return it with a full refund. Please tell me your return process. Thank you!

The wood was in very bad shape when I received the order I wasn't able to do what I wanted to do with it due to the damage of the lumber

The item had to be milled to 3 inch’s to be a smooth surface a lot of chucks on edges missing

it was hard to find 10 straight boards and I was purchasing 40 also a lot of staples in the wood that I had to remove
