Built but have not used yet. very heavy duty

Directions were hard to understand and it took hours to assemble. Works really well.

The FexEx delivery was awful, with six days of delays, each saying that it was out for delivery. The assembly was relatively easy. A defective weld on one of the tines brok within 100 feet of use. Agrifab replaced it immediately. It worked very well on my acre of lawn with wet soil. I would recommend it to others.

Purchased 03/09/2021 Both single spools bent on the 1st day of usage. All instructions followed. However, the product worked well. Easy to use.

Haven't had chance to use to use it but it looks like a great piece of equipment.

The final assembled product was fine but it took 5-6 hrs reading the instructions, getting the multitude of parts together, and finally assembling them. I lost a pint of blood putting the rotor with blades together into the base. Trying to get a wrench into the spaces between the blades was treacherous. The end of the blades are sharp and will gouge you. If you can find this unit assembled, it would be well worth the cost. I have only tried the unit out in a small area as I cannot aerate until later in spring, but it appears to work well with 4 solid blocks added for weight.

Directions are terrible. The lever didnt work and woulnd keep the tines off the ground. Had to modify it to tie up the lever to move it around my yard. Kinda disappointed overall.

One of the welds broke on the square axle bracket that holds the plugs before I made it 100’. I kept going since it just slid over to another set of plugs. Then the bolt that connects the axle to the raise/lower handle sheared off and I gave up before I finished the yard. You will also lose traction on a standard mower tire due to the extra drag.

The bolt that holds the handle to the main shaft should be a hardened bolt it snapped after ten minutes.

A little pain to put together but well worth it in the end. It work great

Let me start by saying that this aerator works great. It had rained and I used this 2 days later. It pulled out nice plugs of soil. It worked like it should. No 5 "stars" because you don't seem to be able to decide whether the customer must watch a video to assemble it or just read the instructions in the box. I opted to read and follow included assembly instructions, took about 2.5 hours to assemble by myself.

Product arrive in good condition, part packaging was satisfactory, with the exception of that they came all mixed up in a bags. not separated by order of assembly adding to the time it takes to assemble this product. The wheel assembly was welding was misaligned. I could not install on shaft. Agri-Fab sent two replacements next day air which fit perfectly. To spare your back (I suffered two bulging disk assembling this unit) place the deck on horses. I used Plug Aerator after three days of rain towing it with my 30" riding mower, it worked perfectly.

I haven't used the 40" plug aerator yet, but have assembled it. I found the YouTube video helpful because of an error in the assembly instructions, ref. Fig. 6. The instruction say use 4 3/8" bolts, but only use 2 (more are added later) so that the holes for the middle brace are left open. I also found I had the wheel brackets backwards, such that the wheels wouldn't lift the assembly. I later reversed them 180 degrees so that it appears to work as intended. In Fig. 7 two of the 3/8" bolts just go thru the tray without attaching anything, slightly confusing. After it was pretty much together I found the lift handle didn't lock properly in the transport position. I loosened all the end plate bolts letting the assembly find its own equilibrium when the lift handle was properly locked; then tightened the lift handle, the middle brace and finally all bolts around the tray. Then it seemed the lift handle would properly lock into place and release properly. It seems a small shift in the end plates and tray was helpful. I had to shorten one of the 1 1/4" by 3/8" bolts with a hacksaw to get clearance to fit into the lift handle and and the center wheel bracket (a 1" bolt would be better). I'm planning to use four 8" regular concrete blocks for weight. Overall it looks like a very nice, sturdy plugger, but I think a few minor changes or footnotes in the assembly instructions would be helpful, but the YouTube video made a difference. My plugger was 45-05182 and the instructions were Form No. 45883 (3/25/20).

Worked exactly as advertised. I was very pleased with the entire process from ordering to assembly to putting the aerator in operation. Moreover, the price was right. The purchase of this product was actually lower than I would have had to pay for one application from a lawn care company.

This aerator was a perfect match of quality, function & price. It does the intended job well and I was happy with the results. You will need to purchase cinderblocks for ballast and to insure it performs efficiently. My only issue it that once lowered the handle to raise becomes out of reach from the tractor seat. My tractor seat has an ignition cutoff so having to get off the seat to adjust the aerator's height to clear sidewalks and driveways becomes a tedious process. Assemble is not difficult but expect an investment of time. Read the instructions and lay out the needed parts before each step. If you attempt to assemble by pictures or without laying out the parts, you will likely miss a required washer or spacer that will require disassembly in later steps.

The off lever does not lock well, otherwise good unit.

This is a very nice and sturdy design made with a pretty thick steel. It would have been nice if it came with some bogies for the bricks cause your gona need them. Can also cause the plugger to drop. The locking slot isn't very deep and bad is easily triggered. I plan to fix that myself . Over all it seems like a great deal. Ps if you live in a clay heavy area you'll need like 6 cinder bricks to get the wheels on the ground.

It takes some time to assemble, and the instructions are perfect. It is also very heavy, but need some serious weight added to make it work. But it does the job.

This product took six hours to put together. It also broke during the last pass of a 5000 square-foot yard. The center bolt that holds the mechanism in the air severed. We had to carry it to the garage ...

Its a great product and does the job as designed.

Well worth the money! Took my time assembling it and it all worked out. Works just fine!

The instructions to putting it together isn’t very clear but I managed to get it together after cursing it out for a bit, also the center bolt that holds the arm to pick the wheels up and down snapped on me like 4 times and had to replace it so made for a long afternoon !!!

It did a good job (better than I expected) and was a lot cheaper to do than having a lawn service perform the task. It is a little flimsy and you must watch out not to back up without the wheels down and do that carefully especially with weight on the unit. Otherwise all worked fine. I was concerned about doing sharp turns with the weight on and because the unit is not super heavy duty built. But that was not a problem, it worked well. Just remember, it is not a piece of commercial lawn maintenance equipment, but does the job.
