Made a custom purchase of this "quality" door two years ago. Installed well within manufacturers tolerances for smooth operation. Less than a year later (maybe six months), hinges were sagging, started having interference between the door and frame at top and on handle side. Has gotten so bad that it barely closes, makes terrible grinding metal on metal noises. Bought Anderson due to reputation - but this experience has ruined this brand for me.

We were looking to upgrade our old rear storm door. When looking at some of the options in the store we were quickly drawn to the functionality and look of this series of door. However, what really impressed me was the installation. I’m a bit of a DYI person but am far from a skilled tradesman. This install went so smoothly, even if taking me more than the advertisement 45 min. I would do this again in a heartbeat.

Same issue happened on me . The screen trim is very poor quality. The sun make it easy to crack. I installed on 3/1/2022 now is 10/28/2022. The screen trim getting broken

Very convenient having the sliding screen, nice quality and very easy install. I would highly recommend.

I loved the style of the door and the fact it was an Andersen. Thought it would last more than a year. I hardly ever move the retractable window I usually keep it half screen and half glass all year round after a little over a year the glass started sliding out of the tract. Called Andersen was told that’s not covered under warranty the glass is only covered for 90 days; my lovely screen door now looks like complete crap. The glass is completely shifted. Wouldn’t recommend

Our contractor installed 2 doors. We love them. The major problem is with the door handles. The sun and heat make them so hot you have to cover them in summer to use.

Glass shattered in the middle of the night after 2 months installing it, customer service was horrible and would not honor their warranty. If you have a choice, I would choose another company as this product will definitely fail on you and you will have to buy another one.

Carpenter installed the door on Sept. 17 2022. The side track on the left side has already warped. In 2 weeks time!

Very disappointing of an Anderson product. Within 6 months the sun warped the PLASTIC retractable screen tracks and now the screen is pulling itself out of the frame. A neighbor of mine bought the replacement kit and it's almost impossible to replace these tracks, she no longer has a screen door - just glass.

Save yourself some cash and install it yourself. Was very simple and some great YouTube videos. I only needed a drill and screwdriver. The doors come with the drill bit so you don’t have to buy one. I installed myself with out the need of a helper. Door is excellent quality and pre assembled. This is the 1st storm door I have installed and it was a breeze. Very attractive door and insulated well

I would highly recommend this door. Very easy to install. It did take about 2 hours but completely my fault. Anderson has done a great design for the door and the DYI install!!

Beautiful door that was easy to install. Only took an hour for my husband and I to install and we are NOT usually diy people.

From Anderson, I expect much better quality. The screen broke off within the first year. the cheap plastic also broke. Looks terrible with the broken screen and unusable.

I love the door, it was extremely easy to install, even by myself. I had a little trouble with one of the plastic safety latch pieces, but other than that, no problems. The door looks great, and everything works as expected. I am a little worried about the durability of the retractable screen, as the one in the store was damaged, but so far it is great.

Bought this intending on having it professionally installed, but after a couple of rescheduled appointments from the contractor, I decided to install it myself. It says 45min install, but I took my time and read every step twice or more to ensure I wasn’t missing something- took me about 1.5hrs. It looks so nice and functions as it should. The hidden screen that rolls down when you pull the top glass down is super cool. Our hall was really dark and this added the perfect amount of light.

I have installed 8 of these doors over the last 10 years for family and friends. They all have been pleased with having the screen embedded in the door to easily go from screen to glass and back. My last installation required a helper to lift the door into place. At 73 I appreciated the help! Several comments that may help others with installation. First of all make sure that you center the screws that go into the door frame that eventually will be covered by the plastic screw covers. Perhaps use a hole punch prior to drilling. Secondly, when installing the plastic covers over the screws, insert the plastic piece into the outside portion of the track first - start at the top. Firmly hold the plastic cover with fingers and use a 3 inch plastic spackling tool to push in the other side of the plastic cover. You will actually hear it snap in place. Slowly move down the door every 3 to 5 inches to continue this process. The plastic tool works beautifully and will not scratch the metal frame.

They don't have a strike plate, yet there are two mounting holes where the strike plate should be? it leaves the door looking unfinished. I reached out to support and they said that these two holes are for the clips installed during shipping & this door has a "built-in strike plate". It's just a poor design & regret buying this door.

Doing small remodels. Changed our front door and wanted something that would allow for air to come through while not hiding our beautiful front door. This was an easy install and looks gorgeous. I loved that it comes with locks and keys. Have received so many compliments.

It LOOKED good: a quality storm door allowing easy venting of heat build-up between storm and entry doors. But in one year's time of light use it has proven a piece of junk. For about eight months the storm door worked reasonably well. (From the start, the metal clip-style handle one squeezed to lower the screen into place or raise the glass up wiggled when used—poor quality machining of its parts. But then the flimsy screening began to tear away from the upper glass window to which it had been attached. Now there's a flapping hole along the bottom of the screen. $400+ wasted.

Our Anderson door was installled by Homedepot crew. After a few weeks, the closer broke and the hinge was bent when the wind blew open the door. Homepot told us to call Anderson. AnAnderson costumer service located in another country told us that the warranty coverage did not cover forces of nature. We were very surprised considereing the product is sold as "storm door"and the door was damaged due to wind. I will not consider buying an Anderson product or using Homedepot services ever again.

Easy to install as long as your exterior door molding meets the size specification.Looks and functions very good. Unfortunately I had to reframe the exterior door molding as it was outside size tolerences.

Purchased this from Home Depot.com and it was quickly delivered to the store. Had it installed with my new Feather River door. Great investment for any home.

We bought two of these a few years ago and the hinges broke then the handles got loose. After that the piece at the bottom broke. It cost me $189 to replace the handles then another $100+ to replace the bottom hydraulic piece that opens the door. But it is going to cost me almost $200 to replace the 3 hinges.

This door is absolutely beautiful! I especially like the retractable screen.

I received a defective door. The glass is supposed to slide on the track so the retractable screen can be released, mine is off the track on one side. After contacting Anderson customer service I was told I had to wait 21 days for replacement parts and fix my brand new door myself.

When we were installing this the door handle would hit the frame, preventing the door from shutting. We called customer service and eventually got it to work with minimal hitting of the door frame and it would not latch shut on its own, have to push/pull to fully engage. 2 weeks later it's doing the same. We can't shut it anymore than the picture shows, or else it's really hard to open and we don't want the door to be stuck and unable to get in/out of our house. Safety issue in an emergency.

This door has no strike plate and no way to add one. The aluminum is hollow where one would be.I walked out my newly installed door only to have my dog jump up against door and push door open. I’m not even sure if it was locked it would hold. There is basically aluminum holding the lock in place. Not very reassuring if you have pets or children. I definitely do not feel safe with such a weak latching/locking system. Skip this one folks.

The weather stripping on both doors too short!
