This chain saw is wonderful. I gave it only 4 stars because the one shortcoming is that it doesn't do good debris exclusion. What I mean is, that if the chain picks up little branches or pine needles etc, this debris is pulled into the mechanism as the chain returns (underneath) into the mechanism. The saving grace is that this chain saw is easy to open up and clear it out and reassemble and adjust the chain, all without any tools, but still, this step should not be necessary. This is especially a problem when I am going around cutting large branches on the ground into smaller lengths so the pieces can be carried away, when there are a lot of little branches and pine needles etc all around. This chain saw is worse than any other chain saw I have had in this regard, it should have some sort of deflector for better debris exclusion.

My gas chainsaw with 20" bar and is enough for large tree limbs I need to cut on my property where I have 100+ oak trees growing. But I need to keep fresh gas oil mix on hand and when done I empty out as the gas and run the chainsaw until it stops, having used up all the fuel. For small jobs the Black & Decker 20v chainsaw is the better choice. I easily cut oak limbs 8" diameter with ease. No problem with lithium battery storage for months until needed. Use same batteries with other B&D tools.

Perfect for me. Chainsaws scare me, but this one is very manageable and got the job done. I cut up a bunch of logs from a tree that were up to about six inches in diameter.

It is a average tool...just don't over tax it...chain keeps loosing and coming off. Would I purchase again *nope*

Very well balanced. Easy to learn how to use it. Light enough for a 5 foot three, 108 lb person to use. Just follow the book that comes with the tool, especially about safety equipment, and it should become a valued tool around the yard.

Light weigh, easy to handle. I have other 20V batteries so it is easy to keep going.

Great for small jobs. Lightweight and easy to use. Especially the chain bar adjustment.

Was trimming back a Lilac bush and saw stopped dead. Charged battery and still would not work. Have used other battery powered tools without anything so abrupt and complete as this failure. This was the First use and it worked for less than 5 minutes.

Great addition for small yard projects.

Have had this a couple of years. Always leaks so we have to keep it on a baking sheet in the garage. It's like a sea of oil. Cuts great and is light weight. Probably should have returned it but lots of leaking reviews on multiple sites so maybe it's the nature of the beast. Ordering another brand today.

Oil was leaking noticeably from the bottom during storage, and also leaking slightly during use. Other than that, the unit was easy to assemble, operate, and was quite light. Would recommend extra batteries.

It leaked oil, so I took it back. Other than that, it's a pretty good saw.

I tried this out right after I got it. I have large gas chain saws but often you have small stuff to cut and this works perfect for those jobs.

It cuts very well and is easy to use. Glad we got it !

Chainsaw wotks well. I am disappointed it requires the higher amp battery. I also have B&D 20 volt items but the batterys don't work.

A great working little saw. Bought for pruning but haved used it for other jobs.
