A few weeks ago we experienced two nearby lightening strikes in quick succession that destroyed thousands of dollars in audio video equipment that were connected to an old but high quality surge protector power strip. At the time I was not aware of the recommendation that you replace surge protector power strips every two years. Now I am in a race to replace all the surge protector power strips throughout our home. When Home Depot offered this Black and Decker power strip with surge protection I ordered it immediately. This surge protector power strip appears well made. It comes with three outlets spaced sufficiently apart to allow for devices that have their power transformer located on the male end of the AC cord. The unit also has five standard spaced outlets, two USB charging ports, plus an illuminated On/Off switch. The unit reportedly provides 2,400 joules of surge protection. See attached photographs.

The BLACK+DECKER 6 GROUNDED OUTLETS SURGE PROTECTOR OUTLET SHELF WITH NIGHT LIGHT 2 USB, 100 LUMEN is the answer for needing additional outlets on a regular duplex outlet and adds USB charging to boot. It was easy to assemble and install and the night light, while not blinding, does provide a nice glow as intended. There are three outlets on each side of the device, allowing you to plug six regular plugs in at the same time. However, due to them being on the side and close together, any plug that is larger than a normal three-pronged plug can take up more than just one receptacle. The shelf is handy, and is perfect for placing a cell phone or other device while it is being charged with the USB outlets.

With all the phones, tablets, computers and other electrical stuff, I’m running out of receptacles. What I wanted was more 110V receptacles, ability to charge phones and have a surge protector. I found one by Black and Decker. It’s a brand that’s been around and had good quality products. It’s nice to have an indicator light to let you know it has power going into it. I tested the 2 USB ports (1 is a C and the other is the rectangular shape) to see if they matched up with the Samsung charger I have. They are rated at 4.5 amps. They both charge a couple minutes faster than the Samsung charger which is fast. The surge protector is a 300 joules. My wife likes it because the white color matches the kitchen cabinets (I was not aware that was a driver for her). I like it and it is now been the charging station for phones and tablets.

This is a very nice Black and Decker 6-grounded outlets surge protector strip. It also has two USB ports for charging cell phones and tablets. It has an on/off switch with an indicator light with an integrated circuit breaker. This is excellent protection for small appliances, computers, televisions, etc. It can be used in kitchens, laundry, home office, tv stand, etc. It has a sleek design. It can be hung on a wall horizontally or vertically.

This Black & Decker 3 grounded outlets surge protector with Type A USB and Type C USB ports is a handy wall tap for any home. I strongly like the USB Ports there; it makes this very convenient to use. There never seems to be enough outlets in a room and this will solve that shortage safely. I plan to buy more of these for my home. This is sturdy and not cheaply made. I would recommend this.

Outdoor grounded timers are my best friend when decorating my house for Christmas, Halloween and other holidays that require lights. I own other timers that start my water fountain, flood lights and patio string lights. Set and forget, you only have to adjust for the time change. I like that they are waterproof, because the Christmas season's weather is wet. It has 2 outlets for your lights. You can place in timer mode or you can manually turn on and off which is shown with a clock or line. I have other timers that have a small red light that shows when the product is on, this one does not. When it is turned on it is very quiet.

The Black & Decker surge protector wall outlet with 2 USB ports and night light will fit any wall outlet that has 3 prong capacity. It can be secured to the outlet like a standard outlet cover plate with the cover plat screw ( not provided). With six outlets and 2 USB ports rated at 5VDC and 2.4A it can handle one tablet OR two smart phones at the same time. The built in night light can be switched on or off as desired. Being a surge protector makes this a safe way to keep your devices charged and the shelf on the top of the unit can hold up to 2 pounds.

Black and Decker has done it again! Always looking for great new products that make our lives more convenient and this certainly is it. It take a regular outlet and enhances it tremendously with 6 grounded outlets, 2 USB’s, night light, surge protector AND a shelf! Wow- I am impressed. The shelf is super large and the night light can either be off, on or automatic. Just be mindful that this only works on a single sized receptacle and most in my home are doubles either with more outlets or switches. This is too big and will infringe so I had to find a single. Although it is in my bathroom over my sink it is not a suggested location but that’s exactly where I need this convenience. It can charge 2 phones at one time or a single tablet. Also be aware that the shelf is pretty big so make sure you have the space for it as well.This is a great product if you have the right space for it -just hope that it doesn’t interfere with anything else.

I received this Black and Decker surge protector power strip in exchange for my honest opinion of it. It is extremely well made and has all the amenities you need for a great power strip. The cord is 5 feet long which makes it very easy to use for all sorts of uses. It has two USB ports and six grounded outlets. There is a recessed indicator light which other power strips don’t have and which is very well thought out by Black and Decker. I really like how the cord is made so that it sits up against the outlet to stop accidentally unplugging it. All in all, this is a very well thought out power strip and one that will get a lot of use.

The Black+Decker Wireless Remote Control system works great. It comes with 2 matched wireless Remotes and 5 Grounded Outlets. The remotes have 5 on/off buttons that are labeled 1 through 5. The remotes also have a master on/off button at the top of the remote that will turn everything off or turn everything on with a single push of a button. I wanted to get this wireless remote control system to turn my backyard bug zapper on/off without going outside to plug it in at night and going backout in the morning to unplug it. It works great for this purpose. The signal strength is strong enough I can do this from my easy chair in the living room. The 5 grounded outlets are intended for indoor use only, but my outdoor use is located under a covered patio roof so I should be ok. I have placed 2 other grounded outlets in the living room so at bedtime I can turn all the lights off without having to walk up to each lamp. Also, I placed the 4th grounded outlet in the upstairs bedroom so at bedtime I remotely turn on the nightstand lamp before I enter the bedroom. What is great, is there is no programing to do! Each remote will control all outlets right from the start. Each remote outlet is rated at 15 amps which is normal for a typical house wall outlet. I like the Black+Decker remote system. It is going to make life from my easy chair even easier.

This black and decker garden power spike, is same style that is sold in green plastic for Christmas decorations. However this is saying that it is water proof.  Provided you keep it 10 feet away from ponds or pools. Sometimes I have had the green ones, at Christmas time get wet and trip their circuit breakers, so this one being water proof from rain, is great. Also this one does not say any place on the box or in the instructions about only using it outside for 3 months. Which is what the green ones say. So this does say it can be used with pond or pool pumps, and they need power all year. Incase you wonder why the little cover that appears to be useless.  It is made to be put on the timer and place the spike threads through it. The cover is protection incase the timer is hit or tripped over. The force of impact will split the plastic case by the spike prying it apart, this little cover adds support to hold the case together.  This style of timer from any manufacturer has this cover it is a necessary item. You can see in the picture I'm holding the cover above where it goes. The split in the mold of the timer is visible, so you can realize it's needed. There is no mention of it in the instructions that I have seen. And the picture of the timer, the plastic lid is not textured. That's the reflection of the light reflecting screen I used.

Great surge protector and outlet expander. Gives you three grounded plug outlets plus 2 types of USB charging outlets. Has a light that shows you it is working (and helps you find it in the dark) The only down side is that it cover both plugs of the wall outlet; I'm thinking that's maybe to prevent the outlet from overloading? Its great in my office to prevent a surge from damaging my laptop, and with the extra plugs, i can also power and protect my printer while charging my phone. Win win, so much efficiency for my tiny space.

If you want to get into remote control systems or even upgrade from multiple remotes to just one remote this Black and Decker wireless remote control system is a no-brainer. With five (5) "Smart Adapters" or some would call receivers and two (2) remotes, Pre-programed, how nice, and a master on/off button, even nicer, you can be up and running in minutes. These adapters will handle a heavy load, up to 15 amps, and they're grounded, three-prong, think safety. Currently using two in a bedroom, 1 on each lamp, may go to a specialty cord so I can utilize one adapter. The living/dining uses 3 different remotes that will now be converted to three adapters and one remote, the master switch button will make shutting down quick and easy. The remotes use the small and very popular CR2032 battery. These will definitely spoil you.

While the Black and Decker 2-pac of waterproof and grounded outlets are designed for outdoor use they can just as easily be used indoors too. The reason I like these is in my front entry my two GFCI outlets are recessed, so the short extension cord on each works perfectly for being able to plug in the timer. Once plugged in you now have two grounded timer outlets and with two timers you can easily control 4 different things. The clear cover also makes it easy to see the timer dial. I Will not really need them until Halloween/Christmas season but I will be ready. You can set the time in 30-minute increments and switch it to a timer or constant on. With all the different lighting these days you are not limited to incandescent and these will work on CFL and LED. No more having to remember about plugging and unplugging extension cords just set and forget.

The Black and Decker 3 outlet (Surge Protected) wall outlet with 1USB A type and 1 USB C type outlet sure solved a problem I had with having to charge my tablets and other devices. My computer tower only has so many type "C" outlets and then finding a spot to set them on while charging. Yes, the electrical cords come out the front, but in my case, there is not going to be anything in front for easy access. This is a quick and easy problem solver.

Surge protection and fits a lot of plugs and power packs. Technology is great. Smart phones, tablets, and laptops. Plus all the rechargeable power packs to support those devices. Which means you need a LOT of outlets! This BLACK+DECKER power strip / surge protector has a good layout and combination of outlets. The row of five outlets on one side are good for “regular” plugs. The other three are spaced farther apart to make room for power supplies. And the pair of USB ports (one Type A, one Type C) eliminate the need for yet another “cube” or plug taking up space. It has a convenient reset/off switch on the side, a blue power indicator on top, a 5’ cord and a flat plug to fit behind furniture. Overall it’s really well thought out. Recommended. An energy saver! We have a small pool that we like to run the filter and heater in the morning but never remember to run out and turn it on so we've been letting it run. This timer was a great and easy solution, we set up when we wanted the power to run to the pump/heater within minutes. It's a pretty straight forward set up, instructions are easy to follow, setting up times was easy and if you want you can install it to your wall (screws not included) which we opted against for now but that seems just as easy.

Wasn't quite what I expected. I misread the description as when the box said "Wireless Remote Control Outlets" I thought that it meant that I could control them from my phone. These outlets come with a physical remote control, no app. That said, they work very well and as advertised. I have them installed on lamps in my office and the range of the remote is good

I received the Black and Decker surge protector power strip with USB outlets in good condition. It has 6 grounded outlets and 2 2.1Amp USB outlets. Protection is a claimed 1200 joules. The cable is 5 ft long with a flat plug. There is a reset/off button. I tried this out and every outlet works. It is rated to 15 Amps and ETL listed. This strip is quite sturdy, and the 14 AWG cord is SJT rated (medium duty and 300 volts). I like it so far. It has a 1 year warranty and is made in China.

This glossy white and gray strip is sleek looking enough to use in a place where visible. With keyholes on the back it can hang on a kitchen backsplash, under a cabinet or along a baseboard, for example, where lacking receptacles. All the outlets face the long side which is space-saving with plug-in adapters that are tall and narrow. Outlet spacing is unfortunately in the old standard tight layout when just a bit of extra spacing between outlets could have helped to avoid wasting 2 slots with wide adapters that also exist. All connections are tight. The 2.1a USB outlets charge my phone at a decent rate considering they are not turbo. The flat grounded/3-prong plug is helpful to be able to plug this in behind a piece of furniture that’s tight against the wall. And because the cord comes out the right/bottom side of it, it can even be plugged into the top outlet with an unbulky plug below, if desired. The longer cord is helpful, especially if you need to swing it back around to the left of the outlet since some length is lost with the right sided plug in that scenario. The power toggle is on a long side, so if you lay the strip on that side (with the cord on the left) to face plugs out, the power toggle will be against the bottom surface and easily turns itself off. I’d prefer the toggle on the face where most accessible and undisturbed, or at least it should have a raised frame around it to protect the toggle. It’s a decent strip that is very nice looking.

This is great for timing lights on/off at 1-4 hours with all my Christmas decorations. No more crawling behind things to plug in or turn on lights. This remote will be great to turn everything on at once and then time out after 4 hours. There is also a ‘random’ time out function explained in the manual. Each remote outlet can handle up to 15A for a 3 prong device. The remote controls a maximum of 4 devices for On/Off/Timed operation. Each unit must be paired to a number on the wireless remote and I suggest marking the remote outlets on the side or back once paired. You can turn all on at once or one by one and then set the time delay for all or one at a time if you want. This product is easy to set up and I like it very much. I highly recommend this product.

This is a very handy outlet. It has a sturdy, removable shelf that can be mounted either way depending on the orientation of your outlets with a lip so your phone or other devices do not slide off. The 2 USB outlets are 5V 2.4A and there are 3 outlets on each side to plug in other things (6 total). It has a bright night light at 100 lumens or about a 7W incandescent night light with an ON-Off-Auto switch. There is a built-in surge protector to protect your electronics. There is a screw to be able to mount it sturdily onto the outlet if you desire. I strongly recommend this as you do not want it to be tilting out of the socket and exposing the pins. Your total AMPS should not exceed 15A for all the things you plug in. Do not let the number of sockets make you put too many things into it. I like this product very much and highly recommend it.

This outlet extender/surge protector with night light is just ok from a practical use perspective. The concept and description sounds good. This extender will work well for those who can make use of its features. However, I was not “overwhelmed” and cannot say this is a product I could not do without. The outlet extender appears to be intended to work on power outlets that are above a counter or where the outlet is 3 or more feet from the floor. I found that the individual extra outlets being on the sides of the box is inconvenient if placed on a side wall rather than front facing. It appears to be well made but with just the one male prong connector to attach to the power outlet the box is loose for plugging and unplugging appliances or equipment. A long screw is supplied to more firmly attach the box to the power outlet, but I found that not to be a “satisfactory solution”. If you have a front facing wall outlet above a counter and need more plug in capability with a night light, and a small shelf to get a cell phone or other small items off of the counter, this outlet extender might be what you need.

This Black and Decker surge protector is also an outlet expander (from two to three outlets) and a charger for USB Type C and USB type A cabled devices. The Type C USB outlet rated at 3 ampere maximum, while the Type A USB is rated at 2.1 ampere maximum. As noted in the picture below, a blue light shows that all of the devices plugged in are protected from power surges (up to 300 joules). It just plugs right into a standard two-outlet wall receptacle, and it has a round tab which aligns with your lower outlet (see picture). You never know when a power surge will occur, so this unit is great to have to reduce the possibility of damage to anything plugged in. I highly recommend it!

BLACK+DECKER 3 GROUNDED OUTLETS SURGE PROTECTOR WALL MOUNT WITH 1 USB CHARGING PORT, 1 USB-C PORT It is a very convenient multi plug outlet: with a protected indicator light, always know when my power adapter plug and USB C plug are working and keeping my devices safe against surges. It had 3 grounded outlets on top, 1 Type C USB and 1 Type A USB on bottom. I have it by bow window for convenience to plug in and place iPad and cellphone on top shelf bow window to be charged.

Black + Deckers’ three widely spaced grounded outlets (for those big power supply unit plugs), placed perpendicular to five traditional grounded outlet make for a really user friendly surge protector. And, as an added feature this surge protector has two USB ports, one A USB and one C USB. I also like that this surge protector has a light so I can tell at a glace that the surge protection feature is working. The five foot length is just right for use by my computer. The flat plug looks nice and trim and is space saving too. It’s reassuring to see that this surge protector conforms to UL standards and has an ETL mark. Safety instructions to follow are printed right on the back. On the back there are keyhole hanging cutouts molded right into the unit. Product is made in China.

This is a handy little gadget to have. It comes with 5 adapters to use in outlets around the house and two remote controls. Having the two remotes lets me keep one in the family room and bedroom where I will probably use them the most. I have several of the outlets in the family room plugged into the adapters and am able to turn them on or off from other rooms in the house. This will be great for Christmas lights or for the bedroom light when you don't want to get out of bed to shut the light off. These are really easy to use just plug them into the outlets you want to use. This would be great for anyone that has mobility issues and can't get around the house very well.

This is an easy way to add extra outlets and charging ports to a standard electrical outlet. The unit simply plugs in to a regular three prong outlet and adds the convenience of having six grounded outlets with three prong capability, and two USB charging ports (5 VDC, 2.4A). It has cSGSus-certified surge protection rated at 1020J. Two additional features are the night light which provides a surprisingly bright 100 Lumens, and a small shelf for the top. The night light has three settings Off – On – Auto. This provides the flexibility to keep it on or off at all times, or to let the photocell sensor activate the light when the area is dark. The top shelf is big enough to hold a smartphone and helps save counter space. It slides on to the top of the unit and can be easily removed for cleaning. This is a nice compact solution for adding outlets without using an old fashioned power outlet strip. I am very satisfied with the quality and performance of this product,

I received this package of two grounded outdoor outlet timers in exchange for my honest review. These timers are the best ones I have ever had! They are very well made and very easy to use. I used them on my outdoor lights and couldn’t be happier. They are easy to set and I especially like the clear cover so you can see when everything will light up and turn off without having to open a cover to see . These timers are heavy duty and will truly last a long time. They are, of course, weatherproof. Another wonderful feature is the dual grounded outlet on each timer most other timers only have one.

The first thing I noticed was the presence of a USB C port for charging. That was a welcome surprise. It's the first power strip I've owned with that feature. Another surprise was that there are 4 mounting holes on the back side, which is superior to the usual 2 when you really want to not only secure the unit but ensure that it doesn't wobble. Having 3 dedicated outlets for transformers is a nice deal, and there are plenty of standard 3-prong outlets for "normal" wiring situations. The power cord to this unit is VERY thick, so it should take a good deal of current, and do so for quite a long time. Very pleased with this so far.
