I bought 15 boxes to do a large, 15 x 20 room. I couldn’t find one board large enough to picture frame the fireplace hearth. I’ve done several hardwood projects over last 20 years and this is worse wood I have seen. I insisted on Bruce for quality, a huge mistake!! Don’t even consider this particular wood unless you’re doing closets

5" T&G 3/4" Hardwood; Color: By The Sea. After having installed this I can honestly say that this is a great value and good flooring overall. The most advantageous benefit I found was the multitude of varying lengths included in each box which helped not only save time from making end cuts to finish a course, but also simultaneously cutting down on waste. There were only a few bad boards, but I saved them for the back of the closet and finishing partial strips along walls. Overall, VERY HAPPY!!

It's not sanded properly, and the finish is very thin. once we laid some out on the floor and saw that there was a light colored blotch every 12". I read the bad reviews and ignored everyone who said it was too rough. I figured it was supposed to be hand scraped, but they really didn't do a good enough job with it, especially for being on the higher end of their prices. Returned 2700 lbs of it. Not a fun process. Very badly dissappointed.

We could not of ben more pleased of the quality and look of this hardwood flooring! Its absolutley beautiful! Looks very nice in our bedroom! Love the texture of the hand scraped look!

This product is tough to get (constantly not available, available for a nanosecond, then not available again) but a great floor wood. The wide planks give a rich look to a room, and the hand-scraped surface is super durable. This order was to replace some planks damaged by a water leak, and for nearly five years it's had no problem and has presented a beautiful look. This is a great choice for high traffic areas, rental properties and homes with dogs. No worries about scratching/marring the surface.

Wonderful transformation from carpet to this beautiful wood floor. Two rooms and my hallway are now decked out in this dark wood and I highly recommend. Installed myself and am super happy.

Durable and looks fabulous. Quality upscale to a point my daughter thinks it’s too fancy for her room.

Great flooring!! Stain and finish was exactly like the sample in the store. I took the carpet off the stairs and installed this as the treads, looks amazing!!

I installed this 3/4" flooring in my living room and (months later) study. It's marvelous! The beautiful character of the real wood, with its imperfections and variations, makes this installation unique and something we are extremely happy to have as a feature in our home. Goodbye carpet! We went with the Highland Trail color and believe it creates an elegant atmosphere while retaining a comfortable sense. I added a border of natural maple of the same width and am glad I did. That border added a few days to the whole project but it was absolutely worth it.

“LIGHT SPICE” OAK SCRAPE - BRUCE SOLID HARDWOOD Final installation definitely more pleasing than first impressions of product out of the box!! Would recommend for reasons listed below; however, for the price, the value is just barely meeting 2 of 5 rating. Don’t expect to install right out of the box...takes effort to inspect and plan how to use boards to minimize waste. Waste on the high side given very rough finish for many boards and overall lack of boards longer than 30”. We purchased this floor despite negatives because of the need to match existing woodwork in the house. Given that primary objective, we highly recommend for 20-25 year old homes to match existing “fruitwood” oak woodwork and furniture. Our project was one room, 150 sq. ft. We purchased 10 cases - using just over 6 cases, had 2 cases left over of cut off waste and boards we didn’t want to use because of poor quality, and returned 2 unopened cases we bought to insure enough for the project because of previous reviews regarding quality concerns. PROS: - Prefect color match to existing “fruitwood” stain - Easy to router, re-stain, and polyurethane a radius edge to create threshold pieces for doorways - Beautiful overall result with natural color variations and deep wood grains - Took 4-5 days to install ourselves - Rough spots on boards can be touched up with polyurethane and it blends wonderfully...can’t tell it was ever redone and enables many boards to be used - Great color match between cases - Great working with Home Depot (free product samples, ordering online and picking up at store, trouble free returns, etc.) - Scrape finish adds to rich look of the oak and stain color. No worry of wearing the floor’s appearance even with large dogs because of this finish - Perfect sheen...just enough to shine, but not super shiny to show wear and nicks - Great for office. Changed casters on desk chair to polycoated casters and no need for protective floor mat. Chair rolls nicely over boards even with the boards’ beveled edges. CONS: - Disappointing quality - Need to purchase more than recommended product quantity to get necessary board length and boards with acceptable quality. - Every board needs to be 100% inspected and categorized for usability (i.e. starting pieces, ending pieces, longest boards, good overall with minor defects to be touched up, etc.) After adjusting expectations to accept the facts that this product is real hardwood with imperfections and that users need to purchase additional product and put forth a bit more effort upfront on selection, the end result is worth it. We’re most pleased with the final result and recommend this flooring.

Just finished a second house with this same flooring, total of around 2100ft/2. Love it. Quality on this last order was better than earlier order in 2019. Tons of longs compared to normal flooring I've purchased in the past...had stacks of them and searching for shorts/mediums to make proper joint spacing. A couple issues here and there but with a doing a quality inspection while laying the floor those are easily found and set aside for use in closets or under cabinets.

There were alot of pieces that had imperfections. Some of the top of one piece tore off after 2 weeks and will need to be replaced. The good pieces look good.

A good amount of the wood had these greyish black patterns as if they had been stamped with something. The same unnatural mercury color filled the knots. Other marks looked like they were made with a black sharpie. Then there were marks that looked like white spray paint. One box had more than half defective wood. Missing tongues and off grooves also caused more defective wood. The store samples and display show beautiful wood. The actual boxes have about half the wood shown in store. Be prepared for alot of waste with this wood. I wished I could add more pictures to show all problems with this wood.

I love this (Mountainside Oak) flooring but look what happened after only 2 years of it being installed. I understand about a color change from sunlight but 2 years? This darker color underneath the piece of furniture and rug is NOT the original color/same as the rest of the house. If the floor did get lighter from sunlight, why is it almost black under the furniture and rug? HELP. Any insight? We love this flooring and would have recommended it but now I am so disappointed. I called Bruce and they said we must first file a complaint Home Depot.

My husband made it look easy to install Hardwood floors. Took him a matter of a few hours to install. Looks amazing!

If you are looking for the rustic look this it a great product. It has a lot of imperfections, but that is what makes it perfect. We did our family room in the scraped mocha. It did get some scratches from my couch. We easily covered them up with a stain marker. This will last a lifetime!

First off, I now understand what others have said relative to the stain, knots, imperfections, etc. This is the look of the plank. I believe this is what Bruce was shooting for: A weathered imperfect beautiful floor and that's what I got. In fact, I took the most imperfect board and made sure it went right into the middle of my kitchen floor so people would "get it." If you are looking for sheen linear flat, you will be horribly disappointed. The picture depicting the boards is a bit deceiving. I believe Bruce should illustrate with a picture the beautiful imperfections of the wood. All in all, love the wood!

This floor is durable, beautiful, and exactly what we were looking for. We have had this flooring in our house for the last couple years and has just been great. The hand-scraped look really does a nice job of aging well and the varied color, rough spots, and nooks give it character. Also, the floors aged look allows it to get a small blemish and not be noticeable. That said it is incredibly hard to hurt this floor. It is very very durable and tough to tarnish. Great Product. We plan on using it again.

I cant tell you how disappointed I was with these floors. Not only did they have deep gauges and unfilled knot holes, but over 40% of my boxes had boards that were only 2ft long. Unfortunately for me my installer was already halfway through my living room by the time I arrived on the jobsite. Now I'm stuck with subpar floors.

So excited we found this flooring. We looked for months trying to find exactly what we needed to match shades of furniture, trim and doors we already had for over 20 years. This was the perfect match. We installed this on the entire 1st floor (almost 60 cases) and it is beautiful! I read a few reviews about short pieces and a few damaged pieces. We did have a few damaged areas on some pieces (not many) but we set them aside and used sections of them (cutting off edges when we got to the walls) or placed them in the closets. I would say we had about 15-20 we did this with. With regard to the short pieces ...... they look great when you do shorts and longs together. When we opened boxes we sorted them according to lengths and then randomly placed them. Worked out great. We used a floor nailing gun and it went very smooth. Overall we are very pleased with the flooring and the service at Home Depot.

We purchased this flooring just a couple of months ago, and there is nothing we don't like about them! This product met every expectation we had for a pre-finished, hand scraped solid hardwood. My husband installed this in our new home with no issues, and we would buy them all over again in a heartbeat. Everyone who sees them immediately comments on how stunning they are, and we agree. Questionable pieces were marked by the company and easy to locate, but many of those pieces were trimmed and remainder was used. We have the mocha handscraped, and it adds so much character to our craftsman farmhouse. The color is absolutely beautiful with our alabaster SW paint. Be sure to arrive with a trailer if you plan to pick it up yourself, and offer your strong buddy a steak dinner to help you unload at your home.

Love this floor. I already have some in two other rooms. Easy to clean. If someone scratches it the marks are easily hidden with a floor pen marker. Looks great after a couple of years of wear and tear. Now putting it in two more rooms.

We used this flooring for our whole house i.e. 2500 sq feet. Love my new floors- wanted rustic feel to floor and this delivers it. There are imperfections and knot holes but that's what gives it rustic feel. Our contractor filled out smaller holes with wood putty. Out of 100+ boxes, had around 5 boxes of scrape. Specially like the color it's somewhere in between brown and grey- more towards brown. Overall very happy customer.

Good quality flooring. Love the color. We ordered 22 boxes originally and purchased another 3 boxes a few months later to extend into a neighboring room. The color was an exact match.

I LOVE this flooring. We hired a professional contractor to install and they did an excellent job! It took me several years to finally select my flooring and I couldn't be more pleased. I love the rustic look to the wood and the spiced oak is so warm and homey. I was a little concerned from some of the other reviews mostly about flaws in the wood, but honestly, that is what adds to its charm. I just love it!!

Couldn't be happier with our choice. Installation was a breeze. Fitment was excellent, no warped pieces. Only one unusable board out of 12 cases.

These floors were easy to install with the right tools and look absolutely amazing!

A few of the pieces were a little too rough to use. Otherwise, a very nice floor.
