About This Product
ROBERTS Silicone Moisture Barrier Underlayment is designed to protect floors from moisture, without trapping it underneath the floor covering. It is made from 100-percent recycled contents that are environmentally safe, and a baked silicone coating that provides moisture impermeability under wood flooring. As a recycled product, it may have slight color variations that do not affect the quality of the product or its performance. Its smooth top surface allows to mark chalk lines and to slide the planks into position, making it easy to install. It meets the perm ratings recommendation by the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) for staple and nail-down installations of solid and engineered wood floors.

I used this over a concrete slab when I installed LVP and I am just now realizing it was not recommended for concrete slab. Why not? Will there be issues later if I leave it?
When installing LVP over concrete, most manufacturers require installation of 6 mil polyethylene sheeting as a completely impermeable vapor barrier to reduce the likelihood of cupping/distortion in the LVP flooring. The Roberts Silicone Moisture Barrier is intended for use over wood substrates and is a vapor retarder, slowing down the flow of vapor without trapping moisture. Depending on the amount of vapor emissions from your concrete, you could see a buildup of vapor that eventually could result in cupping/distortion as the vapor pushes up through the joints in the flooring.
