We love our new floor thanks to Bruce scraped tawny oak! The tongue and groove engineered flooring went in easily. I am lucky to have a contractor friend with all the know-how and tools at my disposal. Make sure your first row is straight! I didn't and had to use pennies at each end to get straight rows. (Pro Trick). We are happy that we purchased this product.

The floors went together quite well. We used the floating method and the pieces "snapped" together easily. I was disappointed that there weren't more medium cut pieces. A ton of long pieces and a few small pieces but only about 2 medium boards per box. The floors have been in place for about 2 weeks, so far they have stood up to the wear and tear of everyday living with a dog. The color is gorgeous and the grain and wood irregularities are beautiful. I made sure to place one beautiful wood knot in plain view so everyone could see the wonderful features of real wood hardwood. I plan on installing the Bruce Engineered Hardwood Mountainside color in the kitchen, dining room and foyer in the near future.

I had 4 boxes from an earlier job (a year ago) and added 4 more. The earlier job I found the quality to be very good and the color to be very consistent within the lot. This order - not so. Many boards had obvious edge damage up onto the top surface, typically on the tongue side. This was factory damage, as the packaging showed no issues. This meant I had to carefully pick through the boards to select cut off portions to discard the damage. The color variation within the lot was significant. This also caused a lot of extra labor to select positions in the floor to not create an unpleasant look. And my last gripe was the lengths - while the carton says random, the actual lengths were really 12-14" or 40-48". The prior lot had a complete distribution. Again, for me, it added a lot of extra labor to lay the floor and a lot more cut loss. I can't comment on wear performance yet. Hopefully the product makes a comeback there. I spent the extra to get what I thought would be a top notch product. Not worth a premium anymore.

Good morning,
Thank you for taking the time to write to us. Natural beauty of hardwood never goes out of style. Wood is a natural material that features changes in color and tone. Hickory has a board-to-board color variation that is more pronounced -- there will be random streaks with a variety of naturally prominent colors from very light cream to dark reddish brown to sometimes very black. Hickory is also one of the strongest woods -- 41% harder and 15% more stable than oak. If you would like to discuss this matter further, please call us at 866 243 2726, 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Have a great day. AHFProducts

Looks very much like the pictures. Has a rustic look. What makes it great is that the color and texture varies enough so you won't have any unusable boards. It was easy to put down with 20 gauge cleats. I was so pleased with the outcome that I bought more for another room.

Very happy with this floor. Not many short boards and stain color is very consistent. Ordered 20% extra but will be returning 6 unopened boxes since very few boards were found to be not ideally usable . Not a single scratch during installation and furniture moving ,nor after two weeks so far of family and dog walking/ living normal life in the house. Floor feels really solid and Shine is beautiful ! Has a little more grain and texture than what was on our sample, and is also slightly darker than sample appeared ....but looks so good that those little differences don’t bother us at all now that the floor is in. Good value for the money ( did a ton of comparison shopping for months before choosing this ).

So far so good. I am replacing carpet with wood flooring on our second story. I have installed about 1/4 of the flooring so far. Love the look, easy to install and seems to be plenty sturdy for the teens who will abuse it for a few more years.

This was the first flooring job I have ever done. To save money and feel proud; I installed this flooring myself (over 600 sq ft). What I thought might take a weekend turned into 4-5 days of late night work. Removal of the old and install took time. I stapled each board down and glued the seam (4 bottles of glue at $10 each). It looks great. I bought 30 cases and returned 5 (3 of which I hadn't even opened). There wer some bad boards; but really not many at all. I had concerns of people saying that they had mis colors; but I opened up 3 boxes and ran out of room to put them around. ALL the boards were the same color. Great product, looks like it was made well.

Hardwood and engineered stains drastically differ
We happily installed the fall classic hardwood throughout most of our home and have been quite pleased. There were some boards w heavy character. The rustic nature hides some wear and tear. We have a family room built on a slab adjoining our kitchen. We purchased the engineered and hardwood close in time in the same color, fall classic. While some variation in stain and texture is expected from two different products, the stain is NOT at all alike. The engineered is way, way redder in tone, the finish is much shinier, and the grain less noticeable. The hardwood finish is more golden. They look like totally unrelated products. I would not recommend mixing the engineered and hardwood versions at all. They are in adjoining rooms and I regret the choice. They aren't a little off; they look like completely and totally different stains.

Good morning. Thank you for taking the time to post a review of our product. I am sorry that this flooring didn't work out well for you. Unfortunately there is a difference in coloration between solid and engineered hardwoods, even when they have the same color name. This color difference is due to different manufacturing processes required for solid compared to engineered hardwood, as well as the fact that engineered hardwood are manufactured in a different location, from a lot of southern Appalachian wood while the solids are manufactured primarily from northern Appalachian woods. We typically don't recommend mixing the two unless it is on different levels of the home. Again I do apologize for any inconvenience. Armstrong

Very good floorMy only disappointment is the wood is shinier than I wanted them to be. That is due to having to select using a very small sample. But I kept it as it is nice quality!

Good morning Chris. Thank you for taking the time to post a review of our product. Color variations in hardwood flooring are a natural occurrence due to species, age, characteristics of the wood and exposure to light. For these reasons, new flooring may not always match samples exactly. Because wood is a natural product, naturally occurring wood characteristics such as variations in grain, color, mineral streaks, and knots differ between each sample, and would not be considered manufacturing defects. I do apologize for any inconvenience. Armstrong

Easier to install than Pergo (according to our contractor) and absolutely gorgeous. We decided to use it through the house after seeing the results in one room. It also seems to be pretty rugged so far. I have dropped tools and no marks!
