    Looks good
I purchased the flooring to create a decorative wall in my living room. The only thing I didn't expect was that the flooring was precut into different sizes. I would have prefered pieces all one length to be cut by me.

    Conflicting Info on this product
The product is okay, but I was surprised to see my floor after it was laid and the boards were all the same length. That's when I discovered that in the product description is says the planks "vary in lengths", however, the specs state 48" long planks. I really wanted varying lengths to have a more natural appearance. Oh well, floor is down now.

No MDF or plastic. Real veneer on quality plywood. This is the best appearing engineered flooring on the market.

            Bruce flooring
Excellent. Has the look you just can't get with a laminated plastic finish. No particle board to swell and warp the first time you drop water on it, solid plywood backing. Not cheap but worth it.

              Very satisfied
Had used a Bruce engineered flooring extensively about 20 years ago and it has held up very well, so decided to work on another section of the house with this product. Once again the job came out very well. Like the first I opted to nail the flooring down as I did not want the mess of glue or the sponginess of floating. The product specs indicate that one can staple which I am sure would be fine, but I chose to nail as that worked well for me 20 years ago. Takes a bit longer to install that way so it is not an instant process. Was pleased to see out of a number of boxes there were only very few boards that had any flaw on them and those could very easily be cut to remove. Interestingly the flaws were all marked with white so some inspector noted the flaw but included the board in the box anyway. Bottom line very pleased with my finished floor and if it holds up like that installed 20 years ago I will be very pleased.

Decent quality for price, easy to float for DIY first time installer
Bought 22 boxes to remove nasty old carpet and float hardwood in two bedrooms and the stair landing on third floor of condo. Lots more work than we originally bargained floor (due to no fault of the flooring, but make sure you are ready for whatever your carpet may be hiding). These floors turned out just beautiful. Not the highest Janka (hardness) rating ever, but pretty good compared to lots of other products and for the price. I dropped a few tools from 3 foot height during install and no scratching, though like most floors, it seems like furniture pads will be needed to prevent scratching and I don't know what repeated pet claw marks might do over time. One board per box (maybe 1.5 square feet per 25 sf box has a crack, defective tongue or defect that makes it unusable in some way (well, maybe you COULD use it, but I didn't). Hot tip: each individual store carries different products in store. -A store clerk told me this and advised me to search through on a per store basis for the product I was thinking of ordering and said sometimes you can find it in store at a different location. I did, was able to locate the product in a different store that wasn't a crazy driving distance and it was .40 cheaper per sf.than online price --plus, you get to see it). I'm a DIY mom and was able to handle this install mostly on my own, but with occasional help from my 18 year old son between college classes, it went a bit faster. I still have another smaller bedroom to go and a landing area at the top of the stairs. It probably took us 20 man hours to lay 220 sf of flooring (first half took 15 hours, last half took 5) , but I expect the next room to take half that time or less now that we have an idea what we are doing. (The instructions are just okay. Watch youtube videos). We learned a lot along the way, but the floors turned out just beautiful. Quick advice for first timers: 1) rent a power jamb saw and saw all the door jambs you need to all at once on the front end. You'll thank me later. I tried with a handsaw at first. What a beating. Then I borrowed a power jamb saw from my nephew. I had 5 doorways to saw (10 total cuts) and it literally took me less than 15 minutes to make all 10 cuts perfectly with the power jamb saw. 2) Plan your transitions carefully on the front end and figure out what you are doing and what pieces you need (T-molding, reducer, etc.) and buy them on front end, figure out their dimensions etc. because making the transitions look good is the difference between a great versus mediocre looking floor. 3) get a good marking crayon and when you go to measuring your cuts at the end of each row, start by putting an "X" or write "NO" on the end you should not cut (generally you are cutting off the tongue end, not the groove). If you get it wrong, the board is wasted. I did a lot of research before selecting a Bruce floor product. Overall, their flooring seems to get better reviews whatever the rating than the other brands HD is offering. Bruce is a subdivision of Armstrong floors, which has been in business a long time, they seemed to have better warranties, and if you can find last year's product (which I think this "flavor" may be) the price is unbeatable for what you get.

Couldn't Love More If I Tried
We actually ended up buying this flooring for $2.49 a square foot because of a random sale they had in the store. We saved so much money. It was exactly what we were looking for! We are extremely pleased with it. Besides the fact that it is pretty scratched up thanks to our 70 pound dog, but we knew what we were getting into by choosing wood over vinyl/laminate etc. It is such a beautiful color. It brings a new level of cozy to our home. Would order again for sure.

This is the third time I have purchased this product!! I absolutely love it. The first time I purchased it was for my Granddaughter's house and then I liked it so well I went back and purchased for my den and now I have installed it in my business! Looks beautiful and is reasonably priced.

              Hardwood Floors
Love, love, love!!! We gutted our condo and renovated everything and these floors are by far the best purchase we made! Our contractor insisted we use an all-wood product (no MDF) since we were installing over cement. We looked forever before we found these. They are three layers of real wood, reasonably priced and they are gorgeous! I was also thrilled they are a Made-In-The-USA product! I thought they looked a little dark in the store, but the variation in the planks is amazing. We installed it floating with an underlayment and glue. They went down easily and look amazing. Total transformation from the ugly carpet that was here. Everyone who has walked in has complimented them. The hand-scraped look hides flaws/scratches (we tried not to, but got 2 moving in). We bought pads for movable furniture (like our bar stools) and that's worked perfectly. I can't say enough good things about these floors. And the Home Depot staff was wonderful to work with -- even took back our excess (unopened) boxes! Definitely a great purchase!

I only have one word for this floor " BEAUTIFULL"
The installers that I used were not that great or professional , but because of this Bruce flooring a child could have put it in. I love it . The installers used some nails and let the floor float we will see if it will stay down.

                Love my floors
I purchased this floor on an impulse buy when the store had an excess of this flooring and it was discounted. I hated my ugly carpet and decided to go hardwood but never found a color i really liked. This flooring is beautiful and changed the whole look of my house. We have done the living room and 2 bedrooms and still have 2 more bedrooms to go. My master bedroom looks amazing! the only negative is it gets dusty, but easy to sweep. We were worried that the floor would be cold in the winter, but it is very comfortable to walk on barefoot, not cold at all.

                  Gorgeous flooring
the color and wider planks look great in my large bedrom. The finish is not smooth so it lookes like real handcrafted wood. It has a beautiful sheen/shine. All I have to do is run the Swiffer over it.

This flooring looks beautiful! Much less expensive than other handscrapped engineered flooring around. It is easy to put together for a floating application.

Just installed this in the dining room and the floor is gorgeous!!!! The random lengths made the installation very easy and we were done in hours. This was my first floor installation and it's the only room I want to be in!

                      Awesome looking floor...
Purchased this flooring for a living room loft and it was my first engineered wood floor installation. I'm a 31 year old female and I was able to lay the floor 200 sq ft in 10 hours by myself. The color is dark but the shade does vary piece by piece. Mix your boxes to get a uniform look. There are about 5 different sizes of boards, which I like but some might not. The texture is scraped, distressed with some few knots. Must purchase an underlayment. I used a rented floor stapler from Home Depot for only $30 a day. Utilized 20 gauge 1 inch floor stapler. Wasn't sure 1 inch was long enough but had to tear up one piece and it was difficult! You may also glue or float. Only piece of throw away was bad cuts by myself, not one board was flawed or damaged. Flooring has a nice shine to it. White substance on the surface is just excess wax, wipes off. You'll need a rubber mallet, tapping block, pull bar and miter saw. Keep seams at least 5inches apart for vertical transitions. This floor is beautiful, I would definitely purchase flooring from Bruce flooring again.

Not the same as the hardwood
Three months ago we had installed the hardwood version of this product in an attic room and absolutely love it. Now we are remodeling a basement and wanted the same look as we had in the other area. Since it is below grade, we selected this engineered version of the vintage mountainside oak. When we received our order it was nothing like the hardwood version - the product had a shiny finish with a green tint to it. Not at all the look we were going for. We returned it and went with a different product. Very disappointed!

Went down easy with very little cutting and waste due to the varying lengths. Looks GREAT and gets plenty of compliments.

                          Beautiful floors
These floors have been installed for six months. I was worried about having wood floors with two kids and two dogs but they have held up beautifully! The texture and the variation of color hide most marks. After installation I noticed a couple scratches from furniture being moved back and it was easily covered with a bit of black sharpie and some blending. Not very scientific but it works! They have a British Colonial look to them and I am very pleased!

It was excellent appeal after installing this! It looks cozy, sharp, and very nice! I am very happy to find and make a decision on this product. Though it costs reasonable, it looks expensive and high quality wood. It goes well with either vintage or modern mood. I have to say EVERYWHERE :)

I installed 500 sq feet of this floor two months ago. No complaints so far. The floor was easy to work with and had few defective pieces. The wide planks look great and make the installation go a little faster than narrow boards. I bought the Freeman stapler for this job. It worked pretty well for a cheaper tool.
