Super simple to install and looks incredible

Do not buy if you have overlay returns. The tread bull noses are a larger width than the provided return pieces in the boxes. I installed all my stair treads and risers. I went to install the return pieces and there’s an eighth difference in width to the tread bull nose. So the miter doesn’t butt up nicely and looks like poop. I called cap a tread and they didn’t send me correct measurements. So bad customer service too. All the money you spend and you get bad quality. Buy real oak treads.

Very nice for the price

Worked Perfectly! The colour match was as close as could be. Use more glue than you think. Not available in Canada, so we had to purchase in the US and cross the board to pickup at Niagara Home Depot. I'm not sure why the floor is sold in Canada but not the treads??

I was VERY disappointed that all 12 caps were the same piece of repeating pattern on cheap MDF. Any reasonable person would have expected at least 5 or 6 different patterns to make installation easier, but this is not what I received. I was able to vary the look a little by sometimes cutting from the left and sometimes cutting from the right, or from both sides, for our 36 3/4" wide stairs. However, for this VERY expensive price, I expected MUCH BETTER than what I received! Caulk is next.

These are amazing! If you use a saw smaller than 12" you gotta make 2 cuts so I can only recommend using a bigger saw. But the result is amazing and easy to install

We specifically picked Sterling Oak flooring from Home Depot because it was available in matching Cap A Tread steps. We are very happy with that decision. It's nice to have our stairs match our flooring. The treads seems durable and the stairs themselves, which originally had carpet on them, now feel quite sturdy and quiet. The top stair nose molding was matched to the treads as the pictures show. As soon as the installers left I went and removed any excess glue residue from the treads and risers using acetone which did a good job and did not damage the stairs. Later I used white painters caulk to hide the gaps in both the sides of the risers and where the bottom of the risers meet the treads. I kept water and sponges close by to immediately remove any excess. Overall very pleased with the product.

This is not a review of the quality of the product but rather the color as it relates to the other products offered by Home Depot. We purchased this product as it is considered to be the “closest match” to the luxury vinyl plank flooring options also offered by Home Depot. It is the only product Home Depot carries or recommends to match their Life Proof Henlopen Grey Oak flooring. However, they are not an exact match and are actually specifically not recommended by the manufacturer of the LVP flooring. Also of note, the flooring, stair treads and molding pieces are made by three different companies so none of them exactly match each other. For our project, this was discovered too late as the stair treads came in much later than the flooring so we had already installed all of the flooring by the time the stair treads came in and were left with few options. Had we known they would not match and that there was no other option that did match, we would not have ordered either product. We ended up having to replace all of the stair treads with real oak flooring and then have them stained to match the flooring. This added thousands of dollars to the cost of the job and delayed the project’s completion dramatically. This obviously frustrated our client who selected this product specifically so they could save time and money. As you can see in the picture attached, while the colors are close and may be an okay match for some, if you/your customers are looking for an exact match to the LVP flooring offered at Home Depot, these treads are not a good solution. I would recommend staying away from this product as well as the LVP flooring on jobs that require both flooring and stair treads as no better solution is available. Home Depot - why carry a product that the flooring manufacturer specifically does not recommend go with their product and not have any other option for your customers?

Used sterling oak caps for my stairs to go over 100 yr old maple in very rough shape. Very easy to cut to size needed. Once glued down ensure you dont walk much on them for a few hours cause the tread slid with adheasive from the tread

We are so happy with the product it was fast and easy to install as long as you have all the tools necessary.

I’ve had these cap a treads for 6 months now and today I’ve fallen down the stairs once again! These things are as slick as ice when wearing socks! All 5 of us have fallen down the steps now so they’re being ripped up and replaced with something safer.

These stair treads are very easy to install and great quality. Our new staircases are now matching color with our new sterling oak vinyl floor perfectly.

I received a piece that was only 2 inches deep. I had to add my floor vinyl to complete the step and the depth didn't match up. Had to complete project to sell home, and now I have to discount cost for buyer. Called and they couldn't help me get something in on time.

Excellent product, great quality, very easy to install (as long as you have all the tools to do it). Nose and step are one piece, no seam, no transition...very nice

Cheaply made for how much they cost we returned 700$ worth they cracked on the curved part of the stairs

The thickness of the stair tread was thicker than the flooring , so that was disappointing
